Veteran trainer Emanuel Steward will accompany Miguel Cotto next week to Miami, Florida to begin the training camp for the March 12 battle with Ricardo Mayorga. Cotto will defend his title against the ex-champion at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The two of them will travel for the media tour to announce the fight. Mayorga will be dangerous early but Cotto has enough power and enough skill to deal witrh him, Ricardo isnt fit at this point and body shots destroy him, Cotto KO 6 - 7 in an exciting tussle!

It upsets me that Cotto has gone from fighting people like Pacquiao, Margarito and Mosley to fighting people like Ricardo Mayorga and Yuri Foreman. Whats the bet that its Chavez next.

expect massive body shots from cotto thrown at mayorga.Under stewards tutalage he will dissect mayorga with a vicious body attack. I see a 8 rd ko from a hard shot to the liver.

What's Your point? Youve missed the main point of all: staying busy.and he beat yuri undefeated and as champ.julito no way, margarito in june and possibly martinez in sept who can discredit that

You wont be upset for long and dont bet on Chavez being next.

Cotto/Arum/Margarito, already have an agreement for Cotto-Margo II after the Mayorga fight and if Cotto wins, there might be another battle with Sergio.

The Mayorga fight is kind of a stay busy fight while recovering from inactivity due to a shoulder surgery that he had after the Foreman fight.

Mayorga has a good chin and will brawl, which is a bit similiar to Margarito although a little quicker with hands (IMO buy not by much).

Although Margarito is more organized, stronger and busy attacking, Mayorga is a good prep fight for Margo, without underestimating the fact that due to the unorthodox way of fighting, Mayorga could represent some problems for Cotto for a while.

he spent most of his time off recovering from surgery...cotto also fought just once in 2010 which is very unusual for him...

mayorga is the perfect opponent to shake off the ring rust and look good imo

people needn't complain about it...he'll be fighting margarito 3 months later and will be locking horns with martinez in the fall...

give this guy some respect because he's fought everyone at welterweight no one else wanted to fight
