I'l look out for that, Ron Lyle was a bad dude! Was he declared dead after a jail stabbing yeah? Then the guy comes out and go's to war with the worlds best!

I read Ghosts of Manilla i while back, it paints a much darker picture of Ali, alot of people dont like it but i thought it was well worth a read and gave a different perspective.

Ive got Micheal Watson and Nigel Benn's books which are pretty good reads, an Oscar De la Hoya book which is pretty crap - talks to much buisness (GBP) rather than fighting. And Ken Buchanans book (not bad) as well as a book about Rocky Marciano, its an old old book and very bias toward Rocky but i really enjoyed it, cant remember the name tho!

"Four Kings" by George Kimball, if you haven't already read that one. I loved it.

"Tunney" by Jack Kavanaugh is also very good, though a little nuthuggy in places. In particular, the sections on Harry Greb are very well written.

"Unforgivable Blackness" (Geoff Ward) wins awards for a reason, not just for being a worthy subject.

And Norman Mailer's "The Fight" is one of my favourite books of all time.

Ghosts of Manilla, ill look out for that one 2

any Ali book is gold 2 me

prefer autobiographys to be honest, a journalists version of events is not really for me unless its exceptional. except with Ali for some reason

would like Tyson to do a REAL autobiography, or even a Audley Harrisson

has Joe Frasier done an autobiography? or Marvin Hagler?

Not sure whether Hagler or Frazier have done autobiographies. They don't seem the type, either. if Hagler did one you'd hear me screaming my lungs out on the rooftops. The problem for me is I can't find ANY good books about MMH, I only find him in books about other boxers. I'm a UK guy, so I understand about local fighters and all that, but it d*cks me off that even Herbie ****in Hide gets a spot on the bookshelf in Waterstone's and Borders, but no Marvin.

Rant over. Only do this for the Marvelous One...

It really does make u have a bit of an Ali rethink tho, i love Ali tho how could u not!?

Yeah i hear that, ive read Tyson books before but he needs to do a proper autobiography!

I was thinking about getting Steve Bunces The Fixer, not sure tho u heard anything about it?

A Great book i read a few years back was Watch my back, by Geoff Thompson. Its not a boxing book but theres plenty of fighting stories! Im a huge Tyson fan and this book is all about Dealing with fear, fear to fire Cus d'amato style, really good book

Haha, yeah, they're both utterly insane, and their stories do deserve to get heard.

And the internet machine has revealed that's it's "Nothing But Trouble". Actually **** a Hagler book, I wanna see the movie! Begins in the projects of Newark where a 13-year-old Marvin watches Amir Baraka/LeRoi Jones having a firefight with cops. We could call it "Marvelous", in the same style as "Notorious"...

definently been after that book as well.

tend to avoid Steve Bunce like a virus. He's good for boxing but bad for me, cu nt needs to learn to chill. am guessing it similar to the Guvnor?

Get that Ron Lyle book man its quite uplifting, guys got real mental strength and is nice to everybody, a real hero
