Hmmm. Interesting post. Let me flip this analogy around--If Clottey fought Cotto's fight, heavy gash over his eye and for a scheduled 12 round main event, how competitive of a match would it have been then? In theory, the steadier man would have arguably closed the fight or more likely TKO but we didn't see that.. he couldn't even finish a one-eyed fighter.
In Cotto's defense, it would seem Clottey felt hesistant to pressure him in the later rounds because he knew Miguel could catch him at the end of an exchange. Instead he clinches and holds, complaining to the ref and bawlin his eyes out when cotto returns a low blow to compensate for the one he gave him. lol If I was him, I'd be grateful Miguel didn't ask to stop the fight on account of that notorious headbutt, and just have the judges score based on the first 5 rounds. Atleast he had his moments to shine. And Arums blessing to face Pacquiao.
