So they just skip right over Dawson even though he has a rematch clause? The only way Dawson gets that title is if Pascal wins, because Hopkins would never fight him. I think Dawson should go after Shumenov or Cloud while he waits.

Chad can fight Cloud now...being as though Cloud has been calling him out for the longest.....I guess NOW might the right time for them to handle their lil' back and forth.....

Politics man. The WBC were never planning on the belt ending up in Pascals lap anyway. When an organization doesn't want a fighter to have their belts, they'll damn sure get them back one way or another. Ask Sergio Martinez, who was stripped of 2 of his 3 world titles within a month after beating Pavlik.

As for Alexander-Kotelnik, are you KIDDING? Dude. The WBC still does whatever the hell Don King wants. How do you think Alexander got the title in the first place? ****ing Tim Bradley over and getting him stripped, which is why he ain't paying the sanctioning fee to win their title (again) for Bradley-Alexander.

Alexander was supposed to get the W against Kotelnik (both of them are promoted by Don), so he did. Even though he didn't even come close to winning the fight. A rematch is not in Don's interest, because Alexander is the star thats going to make him the big money.

The WBC decided they want Hopkins to get the belt, so he'll get the belt.

I want to see this fight more then Dawson/Pascal but in no way is this right. Plus they put Pascal is a bad predicament where he gets ****ed no matter right

The only reason you think they got it right is because you want to see this fight, not because its the right thing to do.
          this is absolutely right

first off because bernard was robbed of being the oldest champion in the history

of this great sport. how would u like to have that accomplishment stolen from

          you?

secondly, in a day and age where fighters fight every 8 months like chad, this

will keep the sport from being held up and held hostage for 16 months before

hopkins gets to fight pascal again.

that my friends is fair. let the network work out the deal where chad gets

          paid step aside money, a

and let bernard win 12 rounds this time instead of 10.

i think the sanctioning bodies should implement a law or rule or what have you

that a titlest has to fight every three months or he is stripped, this **** where

people sit on belts and are inactive for 6 to 9 months are ridiculous...it slows

the sport down and keeps others from having a chance at the belt.

how fun would football be if you saw your favorite team or teams play every

              2,3 or 6 months....

3 months between fights is anatomical enough time for a human to physically

recover from a fight, unless there are severe injuries sustained.

That's interesting, Cloud has been calling Dawson out for sometime, but at that point in Dawson's career he was going after the likes of Tarver, Hopkins, Jones, Calzaghe, Johnson...I mean with all do respect he was trying to break through with the names I just mentioned. Cloud was at that time buidling steam...(and still is, rightfully). Personally Dawson fights Cloud? Cloud will have a long night ahead of him. Dawson out boxes Cloud with ease.

But as far as the topic...Pascal is in a crappy situation...damned if he fights Hopkins and damned if he fights Dawson. Pascal's win over Dawson was more telling of Dawson than Pascal. IMO Dawson wasn't there mentally.

It is better for them to do a Hopkins vs. Pascal fight first in my opinion because Hopkins won the first fight and Hopkins is not getting any younger and waiting for Dawson and Pascal is going to take months just to get back in camp. This way Dawson gets time to get ready for the fight mentally cause you wouldnt want him to over train plus he could need some time to settle down with his new trainer.

Yeah I know, mate. I dunno why I even bother trying to think logically when it comes to sanctioning bodies.

why can't the wbc strip pascal so hopkins can fight dawson for it. why would dawson take a rematch with pascal over a hopkins fight? hopkins is a legend and he will probably get robbed even if he does beat pascal. i hope that's what happens because we already saw these other fights and we know the who the real winners are no matter what the "official" cards say. pascal can go to kazakhstan and fight shumenov so they can determine who is the best "fake champion"
