Hopkins deserve his rematch more than Dawson, but HBO doesn't care about the WBC title. They can strip Pascal if they want, HBO is still going to buy Dawson-Pascal 2 because Pascal has The Ring magazine belt.

I am all for a rematch, but they should order the winner of Pascal/Dawson to fight Bhop next.

I could understand if they give bhop a title shot after pascal and dawson fight again but this is bull****.

HBO has to offer more money than they did for the first fight for the contract between Dawson and Pascal to take effect. I doubt they will considering how boring their first fight was.

The WBC has deep pockets and Golden Boy has lots of money.

This is why the decision was made. No and's If's Or But's.

Expect to see Shaw start suing from this one.

Shaw doesn't have to sue anyone, if Pascal-Dawson II doesn't happen next, it'll be because of 1 of 3 things happened:

1 - Dawson accepted step aside money and got the agreement to fight the winner. (I seriously doubt Dawson or Shaw would take step aside money)

2 - HBO didn't pickup the Pascal-Dawson rematch. (I doubt HBO would skip buying a Dawson fight, especially having the ability to stick it to Showtime)

3 - Pascal and his promoter decided to break the contract. (Legal repercussions that would probably stop the fight from happening before it even took place)

All this means is that the Pascal-Dawson rematch might not be for the WBC title, so Hopkins can fight the next highest ranked contender for it, if he wants it.

Pascal will still be The Ring/lineal Champion at 175. Hopkins can face Dawson as soon as Chad does what he was supposed to do in the first fight.

The decision wasnt even that controversial. I had Hopkins by 2 points. Why didnt the WBC "order" Alexander to give Kotelnik a rematch? Or the other numerous horrible decisions that were much worse than that one.

Does B-Hop deserve a rematch yes does Dawson deserve a rematch Yes! Dawson has a contract already signed because he gave Pascal a title shot and went to Canada only because B-Hop wouldn't fight Dawson. Only right Dawson now gets his rematch now Pascal is not a man if he don't stick to his word and signature if I was Dawson I would sue get a court order to stop the bout and see how the WBC likes that then fight Dawson but refuse to pay the WBC sanctioning so if he wins the belt is vacant ala Mayweather WBC is a joke the same organization that let's Manny fight for a middle weight belt 10lbs below middleweight!
