Why Is the Chirosa Fight Such a Big Deal to Haye?

You'd figure Wlad would be ripe for the picking on July 2nd. I really don't understand why this is such a big obstacle for him. Let Wlad fight whoever he wants, as long as he shows up on July 2nd.

The WBA won't let Haye sign a contract with an opponent who is already in a contract with another fighter.

So why not fix the fight after the April fight but make a gent's agreement before it?

Irrelevant. Vacate the title. It's a paper title anyway. If Haye really wanted this fight, he could make it happen. I don't see how Wlad is "ducking" anyone. Now if he fought Chirosa and pulled out of the scheduled July 2nd date, then yes, I'd say he was clearly ducking. But until that happens, I think Haye is just grasping at straws here. If anything, it would be to his ADVANTAGE to have Wlad fight that close to the fight. He's got a perfect opportunity to capitalize on here, and once again, he's pissing it away.

Why? Because the WBA says so? Just forfeit the title. Like I said earlier, he didn't even beat the proper champion (Chagaev) in the first place. Technically, that should be Wlad's title, seeing as Chagaev didn't ever lose it in the ring in the first place. I'm really starting to think more and more, that David Haye simply doesn't want this fight. He's been presented with NUMEROUS opportunities to make it happen, and comes up with some sort of excuse EVERY TIME.

The fight was hard enough to arrange for July, let alone the summer months when TV networks are reluctant to televise boxing. And Wlad may have his own mandatories after fighting Chisora to deal with before a fight with Haye can be made. July 2nd was a great date for everybody. Wlad scuppered it.

no, everything has to be dropped on haye who already agreed to fight in germany, give 50-50 and give wlad his own personally biased doctor to overlook the cuts in the fight
