berto will be fed to the wolves..........
Berto vs Brooks would be good. HBO is only interested in Amir Khan though. Even though Brooks is the nartural fighter with natural talent. Khan is still learning the basics.

Berto vs Ortiz would be the battle of the posers.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with Martinez vs Dzinziruk at all. Its a close fight. Of course we would all love to see Pirog, but that will have to wait. Zbik on the other hand is a problem because he's with Universum. Dzinziruk is here to stay, he's with Gary Shaw and he wants to fight in the U.S., if he wins or loses, there's future options for him in the States and maybe HBO has a plan to bring him. Alexander vs Bradley, Donaire vs Montiel, Martinez vs Dzinziruk in the first couple months is nice, they are all competitive fights, i'm sick of all the lopsided "showcases" that HBO gave us last year.

I am not really high on a Dzinziruk-Martinez match up myself, because Dzinziruk isn't really an exciting fighter. He's smaller, and doesn't have a lot of power. With that said, Martinez shouldn't have to pay a sanctioning fee for the title that was wrongfully stripped from him just to unify the division because he already had it unified after he beat Pavlik. Pirog is the bigger threat I think. But fighting for an old belt that was taken from him is part of the reason why Martinez won't fight him along with the fact that HBO doesn't view him as worthy for some reason or another.

The reason why the fight is a no brainer though is because both guys scored the best KOs in 2010. HBO is very dumb.

This, and no more deals with just one promotional company that can't deliver the goods...

The pickins are slim in Middleweight land. Martinez truly does not have a lot to choose from right now. Pirog would have been a decent pick as he at least has had previous HBO exposure. Dzinziruk is decent also. If Martinez only wants big fights for big paydays he will have to move North to SW. Cotto is busy and fully booked down at 154 so moving back down there would be a waste of time.

It is a shame because in a year the Middleweight division will be looking good.

HBO is a joke of a network. They obviously have some sort of ulterior motive. Who is this guy's promoter? Klitschkos?

Oh wait, it's the WBC behind this. I'm telling you all, there is something behind the scenes happening. Since it's the WBC, my first thought is Don King. Might not be King, but someone is greasing palms or doing something. What's HBO's angle? Barely even heard of this guy.

Ha! It's Gary Shaw bribing HBO or something.

the point of this article is hbo ****s on martinez despite him fighting the best and holds him to a higher standard, and showers pac with endless praise for fighting washed up bums.hbo should be ashamed having their name attached to ppv for pac fights its pure garbage ive never seen a fighter get soo much credit for basically accomplishing nothing.handpicking former greats coming off losses who are at their most vulnerable points in their careers, fighting for made -up fake azz VACANT belts , and not defending a single belt in a single wtclass isnt my idead of #1 pnd for pnd or even greatness for that matter.

                    i dont have a problem

with what HBO did to Martinez AS LONG as they do it to every other fighter out there. Its about damn time they put nothing but QUALITY fights on WCB.
If promoters and fighters wanna bit.ch and complain, then they have 3 options........1-Fight on boxing after dark. 2-fight on espn. 3. produce your own ppv. nuff said.

BUT if HBO doesnt continue to demand fighters make better fights, then dont force Martinez or others to do the same........

Effin HBO - For years they let guys like Mayweather make "business/event" type fights, never once forcing his hand and not even doing it to make Mayweather/Pac happen, but a guy who has come up the hard way and takes on tough fights can't catch a break. Stuff like this is what is hurting the sport of boxing.
