    Force= mass x acceleration.

    So, in essence, this means that Pacquaio will punch harder at 147 than at 135, unless he has slowed down as much (relatively) as he has gained weight.
    Look at it this way;

    Force Mass Acceleration
    10 10 1
    10 5 2
    10 2 5
    10 1 10

    The result in force in this example is all equal. But while Pacquiao has slowed down a bit while going up in weight, he hasn't slowed down to the extent that his power is the same as it was.
    He has increased his mass enough to improve his power, or more popularly called "carried the power up".

    As evidenced by all the weigh-ins of the day of the fight in the past, Pacquiao was nearly the same weight in 135 as he is in 147, which makes it easy to see why he blew people out of the water, seeing as he had nearly the same actual punching power back in 135 as he has in 147.
    His weight is now a little bit more usable weight (muscle mass), so his punches are probably a little stronger now than in 135, but he's not a big puncher by any means in 147. (usable weight, or active weight, is important because it increases the weight of the arm, which is what you are accelerating towards your opponent, more than body fat does)

    But if Pacman would be able to keep all his speed while moving up, he would still be as hard a puncher in 147 as in 130, relative to the weightclass of course.

    To conclude this, Pacman is a fast fighter. Therefore he is also a relatively strong puncher in the welterweight class. I say relatively because he's a little light compared to the big guys in the class.
    Last paragraph is all that was necessary. Pac has retained enough of his speed and is healthier now than ever before and as a result, has maintained most of his natural power (dude was born a puncher). Combine that with some skills, better timing with his counters and fighters that have styles he looks good against and we have Pac's last 4 fights.

      More reasonable...hmm okay Cotto. Dude used to fight at 140, fought at 155-160 moved up to 147, looked stronger and sturdy still weighed 155-160. Now he's doing the same thing @ 154. He didn't gain much muscle mass with each move but was healthier from not cutting as much weight.

      Thats it, I'm done, you are so ****ing close minded and dense its pathetic.
      Used to fight at 140, not 105. Hasn't had 50-something fights and a zillion wars. Just STFU.

        dude your a dumbass.

        105 @ 16 years old...same as Floyd

        Dude's body obviously grew naturally through his mid 20's (like most people) he stayed around 130 for as long as he could (obviously draining himself to maintain that weight) then moved up to his natural weight.

        GTFOH I get that you suspect he may have taken PED's that's fine but your talking points are old, have been refuted numerous times yet you fail to admit your failure in logic. Your barking up the wrong trees. You ask for people to explain things then immediately dismiss any logic so you can be right. Like I said, so dense its pathetic.

        Maybe if I got some f'ing crayons and drew you a picture you'd understand but I shouldn't have to reach down to the intellectual capacity of a kindergartner for a "grown up" topic.

              Naa. You're just another sore loser. Even if he passes the test
              you'll find ways to discredit the result. Go and hang yourself.

                Like I said earlier in this thread. Guys like him are like the same people that think Armstrong or Phelps are users even though they've taken every single test known to man. There will always be doubters/haters that CHOOSE to ignore logic.

                  Barry Bonds never failed a drug test either. These people are so ******. They'll believe WHATEVER Bob Arum/Top Rank/Team Pacquiao tell them. They simply cannot think for themselves.

                    I think you are right... I remember when IMDAZED said that 7 days was the ideal.. Seems like it is accepted by those who don't think that Manny accepted to all demands that he at least accepted 7 days. 7 days is a good amount to prove that Manny is not on PEDs. What more does he want? There will be some people out there that are beyond satisfaction specially if they are so deep into their own ish that they refuse to be wrong or if they simply have an agenda of hate.
