Absolutely, we see examples in football with Cristiano Ronaldo whose arrogance and diving turned many off him despite him being the world's best player at one point. Ditto John Terry when his actions became clear. No one likes a cnut, no matter how good they are.

Whatever Mayweather is doing, it keeps him in everyone's mouths, because he remains the most talked about fighter on the planet.

The only reason he is talked about is because he's America's No.1 boxer, but given he only fights once a year it says more about the competition (or lack thereof) from other US boxers than his ability.

Am I the only one that thinks boxing doesn't need mayweather anymore. Honestly I think mayweather is hurting boxing Right now cuz of his legal issues he's supposed to be the face of boxing but he lost that tittle alon time ago to Manny Pacquiao. When Manny retires the face of boxing tittle will belong to Juanma, Alvarez, Khan, JCCJR so in reality boxing doesn't need him at all. He really hasn't fought people in there prime and those who are he makes them go up in weight never will u see him go up n challenge someone in his prime at his weight or un weight higher. I think being humble and gracious is the way to be but there would be no Ali, Tyson, PBF, Duran, Trump, etc. if everybody was like that. I'm not militant at all I just respect the fact that everybody is an individual. Don't get me wrong I don't agree with some of Floyd's ways I just understand them.
