Looking up to or idolizing someone is for 8 and 9 yr olds. Floyd is a great fighter, the epitome of the sweet science amongst today's fighters. Why is there a problem with differentiating his personal antics from his ring prowess? Duran and many others were jerks but no one ever took nothing away from their ring accomplishments. Floyd should be no different. In most cases people don't even know the truth they just immediately assume and that suppose to be intelligent? I don't think so and you know it isn't to.

Do the people who keep saying "Floyd fought the No 2 ranked lb for lb" etc think that if David Haye fights Nonito donaire, Timothy Bradley, JuanMa and JMM that would make him an all time great? We could have each one of them come up in weight class (rather than Haye take them on where they are at their best) and this would make Haye the greatest heavyweight of the last two decades despite never taking part in heavyweight fights? The reason people get a lb for lb ranking is recognition of their accomplishments at their natural weight.
Ricky Hatton was ranked due to his accomplishments at Jr Welter. He did not look good when he fought at welter. He was therefore not fighting at his prime weight against Mayweather and so was disadvantaged.Also that it was in Vegas (Floyds home pretty much, after losing on the Road as an amatuer he realised he needed home advantage in EVERY fight as if it was equal it would go his way like with ODLH and Castillo) and the ref wouldnt let him fight (he would still have lost anyway as it was at WW and not JWW where Floyd would have been troubled)
JMM was ranked due to accomplishments at lightweight,he came up almost two weight divisions to meet Floyd who weight cheated (he came in above the agree'd weight thus cheating and taking all sporting aspects out of the bout)
Simply fighting a lb for lb boxer without any give/take doesnt mean anything. If all the advantages e.g home crowd, weight advantage (due to weight cheating AKA cheating) are for one person then logic dictates things will go their way
Is it really a great accomplishment for the self proclaimed greatest of all time to agree to fight a lightweight at catchweight (rather than someone in his own division or even do what he made JMM do and go up a division? but Floyd has neither the balls or integrity to do that)then cheat and come in at welterweight?????Thats doesnt speak of greatness to me.
Floyd would happily beat up a one armed,blind,malnourished leper child and still come in too heavy provided people are willing to pay PPV, afterwards he would still claim to be the best ever.He has no desire to be the best,just to essentialy steal money from the pockets of people daft enough to believe his hype.Last edited by Rickyboy; 01-04-2011, 09:32 PM.Comment

styles make fights... floyd's style doesn't result to fights... i pay to see a fight... hence, its called "fight night"... i don't need floyd to return this year so i can enjoy boxing... just a personal preference...Comment
