Anybody else getting frustrated with boxing?

It seems like every single high profile fighter is cherry picking their way to the top..

And a lot of fighters who you know have weakness against certain styles completely avoid that style and you just wonder when they're gonna challenge themself or man up and prove that they're the best against EVERY style EVERY fighter.

I just miss the golden age where you couldn't even be a boxer without being tough as fuck and fearless, and everybody fought everybody, no excuses, no distractions. The best fighting the best to prove who wants it the most.

That's what drew me into the sport, because I wanted to be like that.. but it gets worse every year.

Yep it's been going that way for some time now and keeps getting worse. Everyone is just in it for themselves and don't care about the sport or anything else.

We need more De la hoya's. He may not have been the greatest boxer, but he fought everybody, even guys you know were going to beat him.

before the *****s who have nothing better to do than to give their cookie cutter prepared response,

Yes I'm talking about Pacquiao too- He needs to fight sombody with speed, and he needs to fight sombody who actually has some defense. Or both.

          One word - Money.

Fighters would rather make millions against opposition who are not on the same level than challenge themselves against a dangerous opponent.

I'm not frustrated at all really. We got Montiel vs. Donaire in Feb and Bradley vs. Alexander in 4 weeks both for free. I'm not really upset. Pacquiao-Mosley god that 24/7 is gonna suck. Boring as hell. As a boxing fan I want to be entertained, but I'm not mad about it at all. After all the times I spent watching Mosley, paying for all his PPVs. I'll pay for this last one hoping he gets knocked out for screwing the boxing fans over. He knows this is a garbage fight and he isn't fighting to win he's fighting for a paycheck.

Okay take that back. I'm real upset.

Although it's hard to do, just ignore the top guys. We got alot of good fights coming up.

only real solution is some type of governing body that overlooks the sport and orders fights, etc.

                it's all a dream though

The only real fighters left i can think of are, Mosley, Margarito, and montiel.

They'll fight anybody and will do everything they can to win.

Cotto too- he fights anybody, but he still buckles sometimes.

As a boxing fan it would be nice to see more tournaments within these respected divisions at least than it would warrant attention.
