Boxing is not competing with MMA.

This is the typical MMA fan:

This is the audience that MMA appeals to. "Take her down! Mount her! Get side control! Rear naked choke!" Can you imagine these idiots appreciating the skills displayed in a boxing match? All they wanna see is broken arms and blood covered faces, like something you would see on Faces of Death. These are the type of people who grew up on Hulk Hogan and now they are ready to mature into MMA. If this is the demographic boxing needs to tap into to be "popular" again, then I am fine with it being "dead."

    Typical MMA Fan: White.

Sorry, I knew the moment I clicked that video it'd be 2 white guys(girls in this case) showing pathetic striking.

I'm not trying to be racist. However most of it's fan base is WHITE. I like the sport, but really the only people I see who want to be MMA fighters are White guys.

It is completely different fan bases and the only people who say Boxing is dying are MMA fans who can not appreciate the skill and technique. That is why Boxing Super fights will always completely out draw any fight that MMA has to offer. Although I really do wish that Boxing had the format of UFC one great card a month with a stacked card I would order that Boxing PPV every month and have fight parties. I believe MMA has already peaked in my opinion and I have not watched it in years and care nothing about it. LONG LIVE BOXING.

i would say a big portion of the people that watch Boxing also deep down just want to see a slugfest and a brawl. Alot of fans don't care about technique. In MMA there are some very technical fighers but usually they don't become big draws.

People want to see Gatti Ward above everything else, and MMA is offering more of those kinds of fights than boxing at the moment.

I'm as white as they get. There's more whie fans then you think....Probabky just as much white fans as other races in the US. Remember how many more white people there are then other races.

              Then take Europe....

I'm in the prototypical demographic for an MMA fan. I see the appeal but there is no ebb and flow to the sport, I don't appreciate the wrestling aspect, and at best the boxing aspect is sub-par.

Meh. There are a ton of Brazillians and Japanese in MMA and only like 2 of the UFC champions are white.

Most of the people in the U.S that watch it are white, Is there anything wrong with that? Of course not.

Collegiate wrestling is dominated by white men here in the U.S, and MMA is there only outlet to compete in a combat sport.

Like you cannot appreciate the skill and technique it takes to submit or take down a guy?

I like both and I go to fights at the local bar to watch PPV's as much as possible. I would say that Boxing and MMA are not competing but they do have fans that cross over to watch both.

Once again this argument is like arguing religion both sides are gonna say they are right because they believe it and no facts or argument is going to change their opinion.
