I live in the Dallas Metroplex area and it seems that every sports bar in the area has the UFC fight posters and they get the UFC fights. I live in a city of about 80K and Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters and probably about 20 or 30 of the other sports bars in town get the fights. So i can only imagine that it is like that across the country. So to me, every UFC PPV is going to get at least 200 to 300K ppv everytime. There was another thread about the PPV buys this year and it being dominated by UFC, how can it not be when every sports bar in America gets the fights. But on the other hand none of the sports bars here get boxing ppv's. But i still think it shows that when it comes down to it that boxing is still king.
Someone else made a comment about boxing being in trouble when Floyd and Manny retire, well someone else will step up, they always do. Ali retired and in stepped Sugar Ray, Sugar Ray retired then in stepped Tyson, Tyson effed up and in stepped Oscar. Then people were saying that boxing would die would Oscar retired and in stepped Floyd and Manny. Remember Manny and Floyd were around a long time before they became the cash cows. They both did PPV's they did 300K buys before they became the cash cows. Someone will step up, whether it be Berto or Alexander or Ward or Khan or Alvarez or whoever.
