If anybody tarnished their legacy it is Pacquiao. Before he refused OST I actually enjoyed watching him fight. Now, I can't enjoy seeing him in action no matter how hard I try because I can't remove the question from the back of my mind... "is he clean or dirty?" I then had to go back and put an asterik next to all of his victories after his gift decision against Marquez in their rematch. You can talk about Floyd not making the rules and any other thing you can think of. At the end of the day, it is an elite professional athlete who refused to take a drug test. Had any other fighter other than Manny refused to take a drug test they would have been pulverized by the media.

Just imagin Pacquiao asking Floyd to take a drug test....

"uuuhhh.. I ask Floyd to take drug test. Along with me... I will take test also.... uhhh... just to know we are clean for this superfight.... for uhhh extra precaution.... but Floyd refused and turned down the fight."

Floyd would have been executed by the media! THAT is a true example of a disappointment and how you tarnish your legacy. Then imagine if Manny went on to fight somebody else and still underwent the OST, like Floyd did with Mosley, showing that it does not impair your performance if you are a clean fighter who depends solely on hard work. Manny would be projected by the media as the Lord and Savior of the integrity and cleanliness of boxing! If you think Floyd currently gets bad press.... multiply it by 10 to see how he would look if he refused to take OST.

This is why I laugh at these kinds of anti-Mayweather articles. We can talk about the fighters who Manny could have fought just like we can do with most fighters. So Floyd changed his style to be more calculated after he moved up in the divisions and reached his late 20s and early 30s. Whoopty effin doo! At least we know that is something that an intelligent and CLEAN fighter does.

We have seen how Floyd functions after undergoing OST. We have yet to see how Manny functions after OST. Think what you want, but Floyd said:

"I want OST... I'm a clean fighter... I'll prove it... I HAVE proved it... CAN YOU?.... oh you refuse?".

Anybody who has the unmitigated gall to defend a star athlete who refuses to PARTICIPATE in a drug test is nothing but a ***hugging ****rider, or a fanboi who doesn't want to face the fact that the only person who is the REAL disappointment is PACQUIAO.

      Checkmate, well stated

What has Mayweather's disappointing year got to do with Manny?

The topic is about a fighter who is a "great disappointment". He chose the wrong fighter. I chose the correct fighter. Happy New Year!

If there was a biggest disappointment in this era it is pacquiao.

He not only tarnished his reputation but brought boxing down along with his refusal for a simple drug test.

If he fights for the fans and legacy, there really isnt any other reason why a professional should refuse a precaution to keep the playing field clean and cheat-free.

He doesn't mind being labeled a womanizer but goes to the extreme whenever someone mentions "steroids" or performance enhancing drugs. It just doesnt make sense. Just man up, take the test, clean up your tarnished image, and game on.

Now he is just a closet abuser waiting to be exposed. Its just sad that people are ignoring the issue that this guy is a potential cheat-or perhaps already cheating. After all, HBO, nike or other big name sponsors have a lot to lose if pacquiao gets exposed. If he goes down, boxing will too.

                      who cares

the moment pac refused, steroid allegations and PED use or doping suddenly got thrown in the mix. When someone mentions floyd vs pac, or either one you can't help but associate "drug use" or "cheating" which quite frankly stinks up the sport.

it was his own damn fault it got this big, he refused, backpeddled, flipflopped and lied on the issue which makes him su****ious and rightfully guilty in anyones eyes--(except the fanbois of course)
