    It's a quality undercard fight.

Reading the comments about this fight and about Erdei in general it's pretty obvious few people have watched any of his fights from start to finish.

Of course their high opinions of Campillo are based on a grand total of 1 viewing!

People are gonna be surprised when Erdei takes this guy to school. His win over Fragomeni, at Cruiser, while giving up 20lbs and recovering from the flu, is much more noteworthy than anything Campillo has ever accomplished.

Campillo's claim to fame is getting jobbed against a guy with nearly 0 skill and less than 10 career fights.

Erdei is with DiBella now and Campillo obviously has shown a willingness to travel.

Plus Campillo doesn't have to worry so much about the funny business as he did with Shumenov who lives in Las Vegas and promotes his own fights.
Hope it happens in the US. IMO, either of these guys beats Shumenov by UD with even half-way fair judging.

Re: Erdei and Campillo. I have seen most of Erdei's title fights and Campillo three times

I hope so too, I would love to travel and have a chance to wave my Hungarian flag for The Firebird.

Erdei is two fights away from becoming a Unified LHW champ on top of having already been the Lineal LHW champ and WBC Cruiserweight Champ.

I think the only other fighter to move up from LHW to Cruiser and come back down to LHW again in Michalezewski. However, in his case I don't think he was ever required to relinquish his LHW belt, so Erdei may become the first person to ever accomplish this feat.

I've got family on both sides of this one so I'm with you on hoping it's in the US. But I wouldn't complain if it were in Madrid either. Give me an excuse to make the trip.
Really too bad Universum wasted Erdei's talent for so long. He should have been fighting better opponents than the bums Universum put him in with for years

            Spanish and Hungarian huh?

You must have some good recipes in the family!

I just hope the fight happens and that it happens in the Martinez card. It's a good matchup between 2 very underrated and highly skilled fighters and it deserves to be shown on HBO.

Everyone blames Erdei for his opposition, but as you said, it was a negligent promoter who ruined his chances to become a worldwide talent.

He was always an outsider fighting as a Hungarian in Germany and they were always feeding him easy opponents because they wanted to keep the belt warm until Braehmer was ready to take it and become the German champ they always wanted.

He never wanted to leave LHW, Universum forced him to because they wanted Braehmer to have the title and knew he couldn't beat Erdei to get it.

Erdei was also sick leading up to the Fragomeni fight and when the possibility of pulling out was discussed they basically told him "fight or you're fired".

Not many promoters ever hang a fighter out to dry like that.

The fight against Fragomeni was a FOTY candidate that almost nobody saw and showed tremendous heart on Erdei's part to outbox a man who outweighed him by 20 pounds on fight night.

Universum was afraid Erdei would whip Braehmer like Garay did, and they didn't want that. You're right, Erdei-Fragomeni was an excellent fight

Does a day go by when the WBA doesn't try to fill a vacant "title"?

erdei(the good calzaghe) will school campillo, shumenov, pascal, cloud, dawson, and hopkins and claim his rightful place as lord of boxing.

I've made threads about Hopkins facing Erdei from years ago.

I wish it would happen, another notch under B-hop's belt facing the Unofficial Linear Champ and taking his 0 in the process.

I didn't G. Leon was an adviser of his, G. Leon from B-ta
