I love both the K brothers but I will be the first to admit that their dominance also hinders the heavyweight division. Will the division every be as explosive as it was in the 70's thru mid 90's?

How long will it take for the heavyweight division to regain its dominance in boxing

If they fight each other, the limelight will be focused back at the heavyweight division. But it wouldn't happen. Right now, there is no one available to create a serious challenge to them and the dearth of competition will not bring the heavyweight division out of their doldrums.

The 80s were total dogshi**. A geriatric Holmes beating up one tomato can after another then Tyson taking over the helm and doing likewise. The entire HW during the 1980s was not a single bit better than the period of 2000-2010.

When the Klitschkos retire. The U.S. have a few good HW prospects like Deontay Wilder, Seth Mitchell, Joe Hanks. all exciting fighters. Europe has prospects like Kubrat Pulev, Tyson Fury, David Price, Denis Boytsev. These are all exciting fighters(unlike the klitshckos)
