Montiel has a longer reach donaire is 2 inches taller... They will weigh in at the same weight...How is donaire going to be bigger when they will weigh the same.

I go on these forums and see people complaining about DLH and Cotto being drained against Manny. Both bigger men. Cotto having to drop a pound from his previous weigh in, DLH having to come it at 147 as reason for their loss. So if Donaire is really the bigger man, shouldn't it be a disadvantage? They are the same size. If Donaire can make the weight then he can compete fairly and evenly... I do agree Donaire has a bigger frame, but as far as height and reach they are close.... They are weighing in at the same weight. A pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of rocks. Nobody ever complained about Morales at bantam, or Coralles or Caballero.

But would they be the same weight at fight night?

what i was saying is that paul williams for instance is taller and has more reach than many heavyweights out there. It doesnt mean he is the bigger man. Donaire is clearly much bigger than fern. No excuses thoough becauseits called weight class not height class and altho im leaning a bit toward Donaire in this one, no one should count montiel out.(which many people on these forums are already doing)

I totally agree about not counting Montiel out.. I would be dumb to do so.. Montiel has the experience and I give him the slight power edge. This will be a great fight.. I do think Donaire should move up, but he can still make the weight, like Morales could at 122, corrales could at 130, Caballero at 122 with 2 losses so size didn't help. and on and on.

Lets use Caballero as an example, he is 5'11" fought at 122 and has 2 losses there. Making weight, specially when you are a bigger fighter takes something out of you as well so it balances out. I suspect Donaire to be even better at a higher healthier weight, problem is how big is too big for him. Having bad hands is not a good sign because the higher up he goes the worse that problem will become with more gravity behind those punches. Montiel is the man and this fight will be competitive.

wow i have read what some of you are saying seriously need to watch the Montiel Hasegawa fight Montiel only needed half a round to put Hasegawa away Montiel is a better boxer puncher than Donaire, Montiel has already proved himself what has Donaire since Vic Vargas a minimumweight fighter
Rual Martinez a lightfly flyweight fighter of course he bigger then these guys but Montiel is no punk and he wont make the same mistakes he would do with lesser opponents just ask Hasegawa how is jaw is doing and Hasegawa is as tall as Donaire and Hasegawa was a proved banta heck he was the best banta until he fought Montiel Donaire speed wont bother Montiel he will adjust and his power Montiel has a pretty good chin but what about Donaire chin does he a have good chin or not how can we possibly know when most of his opponents fight at bottom two weight classes oh and pretty much slow come forward fighters Montiel aint slow oh does move his head and hes pretty fast himself

they won't weight the same on fight night, even Donaire admits he's huge for these weight classes...he walks around at about 140+...that's featherweight size
