    Comments Thread For: Montiel vs Donaire: Fernando Expecting a Knockout Ending

    WBO/WBC bantamweight champion Fernando "KO-Chulito" Montiel is going through the toughest training camp of his career. Montiel is preparing for his anticiapted clash with Nonito Donaire on February 18 in Las Vegas. Montiel is expecting one of them to win by knockout. He doesn't see any chance of the contest reaching a twelve round decision. Montiel is going through a very special training period to make sure everything is perfect.

            have you seen Donaire fighting tuff guys like Montiel? NO!

            Vic is no Montiel, i can't stand some guys saying Montiel has no chance.

              donaire too big,strong..if donaire wins he needs to go up and face guys his own size,he's a big man...if montiel wins he should fight moreno,i can't see him going up anymore,3 weight classes is enough,he's a small bantam

                he has a chance,i think he's a more complete boxer than donaire,but what makes me think he'll lose is that donaire is a big boxer,he's really more like a superbantam,which is probably why he said he's going to 122 in his next fight

                  yea Donaire is pretty big for the weight he's fighting at; his chin will get checked this time, Montiel fought a quick fighter in Hasegawa but he let us know that 1 punch of his can change the outcome;

                  for me it's a 50/50 fight

                    it's not the proper way to predict match-ups. it's not about the "who" it's about the "how". montiel is stationary and does not have a sound head movement. montiel's head will be an accommodating customer to donaire's quick and accurate punching. montiel may have power, but it will not be an advantage coz it will be negated by the awesome speed by donaire. donaire's jab has improved in terms of power and pop.
