He promised and guaranteed a win over Pacquiao and Margarito.

I mean there's confidence and trash talking, then there's the girl who cried wolf. Miguel Cotto is the girl who cried wolf.
This time though, he's going to face a past prime, shot version of a guy who once gave Spinks, Trinidad, Vargas, and DLH a good fight and also beat Forrest 100 years ago.

So Cotto has a chance to finally be right on his promises and guarantees.
98.5% of the boxers promise and guarantee that the will win their upcoming fight the other 1.5% say that it will be a good fight and that they have what it takes to win.
Does that mean that 98.5% of every boxer that have lost is a "girl who cried wolf"??

Nice how you mentioned the only two defeats when it come to your "promises and guarantees" but forget to mentioned the other 35 times that Cotto has been "right on his promises an guarantees".

What is wrong, do you have selective memory, or did you "promise and guaranteed" yourself to be ignorant!!!!

Cannot understand how anyone can diss Cotto, its a TUNE UP fight, Margarito needs time to recover, simple as that, by the time he's ready to fight Cotto it will be June, 1 year since he last fought, he is staying busy, i agree that Mayorga isnt at his best and even when he was he was a great chin at best, but it will make for an entertaining fight anyway. You cant question the level of opposition Cotto has fought, as a prospect he was KOing other undefeated prospects, and his only 2 defeats came at the hands of suspect fighters, no disrespesct to eather one.

Mayorga is a nobody in the current boxing game...BUT he's "exciting" to watch and can promote a fight...Cotto has earned/deserves a "easy" fight after taking on judah, mosley, rito, clottey and pacquiao...

Plus its good for him...more time to train under Steward and work on somethings and also to build up his confidence and swagger...

I like it..then rematch with Rito..

Exactly how i feel about it. Margo is exciting to watch, much as i dispise him. The guy don't even know how to box and can win big fights. He tough as nails, and has heart.

But i think Cotto will avenge that loss, with Stewards excellent guidance and prep. Cotto is a very good boxer, and i will be willing to bet BIG on that fight, just hope it does happen. :Beavis butthead:

In Mayorgas last fight, He got hit on the face all night but the opponent didn't have Power...So which means his head is vulnerable to Left hooks, Jabs ,and straights...all night long..Cotto should be able to knock him out within 6 rounds,I predict Mayorga on the canvas three times before getting KTFO.Then Margaresto NEXT..

Mayorga is always worth watching. That being said, Cotto should dispose of him rather easily.

I can't really give Cotto too much credit for fighting a guy like Mayorga. But even still, I don't see how this fight will end up being a mismatch if Cotto can't get Mayorga's respect with his punches. If Mayorga isn't drained in this fight and takes Cotto's punches, I could see Cotto gassing and Mayorga maybe doing enough to bother Cotto or possibly beat him.

If a guy that barely throws any punches and had an injured leg after being slammed down can beat Cotto, then so can Mayorga maybe if he comes in better shape.

No question Mayorga has a great chin but Cotto is a great body puncher, and i think he will fade quickly when he starts gettin ripped to the body, i think Cotto inside 7.
