Cotto has already said after his loss to Tony that he wont clinch. ****** move on his part but its one of the reasons he's my favourite fighter!

And Cotto boxes very well off the back foot it pisses me off when he gets pigeon holed as a straight at u pressure fighter. In fact Cotto can actually not only beat a guy on the backfoot but beat a guy up on the backfoot!

Im not so sure but at this stage of his career after all the wars he might actually be better off turning into full boxer

A lot of ppl say that Margo has Cotto's number. That fight was even before the stoppage, Margo wasn't running away with the thing. Cotto needed a minor adjustment in leaning too much on his front foot and not being able to evade punches effectively. That problems has been recognized and corrected by Steward.

I'm not saying he will beat Margo easily but it will be more competitive. Minor adjustments were needed and with Steward it should be in place. You can always reference the Mosley/Margo fight which is the way you fight him

Regardless of how awfull Margarito looked against Pacquiao and Mosley. Cotto can't beat Margarito by clinching, in fact I doubt he can beat him. Cotto is not physically strong like Mosley, if he tries to clinch he's going to be a lot more burnerable to the uppercuts and he'll be on a range confortable for Margarito if he can't clinch effectively. He also doesn't have the speed to do what Pacquiao did. In order to beat Margarito you have to take away his initiative to apply pressure. Cotto can't do any of that, his best bet is to try to box like he did on the first half of the fight.

I would tell Cotto, when Margarito throws that long uppercut, block, grab his arm, rip his glove off, cut his plaster wrap off and then, beat him down. IF he can do that, he got this fight won.
