Agreed. I think one of the reasons SI went with it was the extra nervousness of Khans chin. The whole question mark of what Khan takes a big shot made the fight that much more exciting. It certainly wasn't the foty if you just are looking at the best fight.
Take away the round where Khan was hurt and this fight would have been called average at best.
You don't take a fight that had 1 dramatic round and make it the FOTY.
