That's funny.

I went to the damn fight and at no point did I think I had witnessed a FOTY.

It was a decent fight, but there was little back and forth action. It was sporadic and Khan ran all night long. Not many exchanges. More like a Rocky movie fight where one guys does his thing while the other guy does nothing and then switch.

You must have been behind the 'The guy behind me can't see' sign if you seriously think that. I seem to remember you predicting with complete authority that Maidana would knock out Khan before the fight, so I'll take what you say with a pinch of sour g**** juice...

good fight. Maidan got folded in the first and came back like the terminator. Khan kept him off as long with flurries as much as he could. Maidana walked through hell to come back and have khan out on his feet in the 10th. The fight was a **** hair from being stopped.

No other fight had the drama that fight had, although I still haven't seen burns-Martinez.

Good fight and at it's apex it certainly was as good as they come but I wouldn't label it fight of the year. I know it's SI so they are going to focus on the bigger fights but JMM/Katsidis was better and even Hopkins/Pascal. I'm sure there are a few others that were better too.

Obviously people have forgotten some great fights from early in the year.

Soto-Antillon was much better.

Froch-Kessler was better.

Pavlik-Martinez was also better IMO. More ebb and flow, more exchanges in each and every case.

Agreed. I think one of the reasons SI went with it was the extra nervousness of Khans chin. The whole question mark of what Khan takes a big shot made the fight that much more exciting. It certainly wasn't the foty if you just are looking at the best fight.

disagree...there was probably 3 better fights than this one. Im not saying that it wasnt a good fight because it was but not FOTY quality in my opinion
