    Either is a great choice

JMM-Katsidis was too 1 sided to be FOTY

i scored it a draw until the time of stoppage....most people agree on my way of scoring fights.(jmm fight)

soto on the other hand was completely outclassing him in the first half and showed his age at the end....good scrap and good matchmaking tho

I imagine everyone has a favorite for different reasons. Some fistic fans are purists.
Given the purity of the sheer guts and old school action of Duddy/ Chavez Jr, I am astounded that it has been all but forgotton as a year end treat.
Freakin' Mayweather fights one exhibition in the ring and 3 felonies outside of it this year and retains his Number 2 pound for pound status. C'mon. There are real pugilists out there who made this a great year. Boxing has no consequences for ugly behaviour as controlled sports do and until it does reforms will never come.
I still have trouble that Manny made Margarito a millionaire although he was a step away from attempted murder. ( He may very well have cheated against Cotto)

A mainstream fight like Khan Maidana had it's intrigue, but Khan won most of those rounds and then faded and got caught. He ran that race just as I anticipated he would on paper. No real surprise for me. If Maidana stopped him, then a case can be made for fight of the year status.
Otherwise, Martinez/ Williams was literal dynamite. Although it was not Hearns/ Hagler, it was a stunner. The one punch KO within the elite divisons is rare.
Finally, BOYCOTT Manny/ Mosely!!! It is a disgrace to the sport and already places a black eye on 2011.

What's funny is that I made a thread on why Khan-Maidana wasn't the FOTY, simply because Khan ran for 3+ rounds. To this day I don't even think that was the best fight that night.

I thought Mares-Darchinyan had a better fight that night, but since most of these guys don't appreciate the lower classes, they'll keep being frontrunners.

I enjoyed Kessler-Froch, Hopkins-Pascal, and Khan-Maidana more than Segura-Calderon. Can't understand how that was a FOTY. In that case then Cotto-Margarito should have been 2008 FOTY beating out Vazquez-Marquez III. Cause Segura-Calderon was Cotto-Margarito II, only it ended quicker. And to make my argument stronger, Cotto-Margarito was actually a closer fight both in the actual action of the fight and the judges scorecards with Cotto winning the first 6 rounds then Margarito coming back to stop him.

Khan-Maidana should have been fight of the year.

You scored JMM-Kat a draw at the time of stoppage, or Calderon-Segura?

I didn't think it was quite at that level (and got no votes) but it could have been an honorable mention.
