old man probably has enough money to live 20times, yet he wants to **** us out of our money.
Again, an example of someone who doesn't have a clue.

Arum reserved the MGM for that date for Cotto's return.

Arum offered HBO Cotto-Vanes...a perfectly acceptable fight for 1.5 million.... a VERY reasonable price.

      HBO turned it down.

That made Arum faced with not televising the fight at all or risking his own money to put it on PPV. Thankfully, he went with option 2. And Mayorga is the choice because he will bring more buys and when you're risking your own money that means more than if it were an HBO fight.

Do you people think Arum wants to make these PPV's? He risks his own money doing it. If HBO would buy all the Humberto Soto and Donaire fights, Arum would love to not risk his own money. He does this because, until recently, HBO hardly ever bought fights in the lower divisions and the only way they would get exposure would be the Latin Fury's and other Top Rank PPVs. We as fans should be thankful that we have option of seeing them instead of complaining.

Arum does a lot of **** to hurt the sport....but this is an example of him actually doing something positive for the sport.

who's better Mayorga or that roberto garcia guy Tony fought? You know Cotto had the shoulder surgery been off a while its ok to take an easy tuneup once in a while, thats boxing. My problem with this fight is the fact that I dont believe Mayorga can make 154 without the use of diuretics. Last time at 154 was against Shane and looked not so good. He gassed hard and Shane didnt even push him. Against Oscar he had to use some illegal laxative to sh it himself down to 154. this should be entertaining while it lasts.

Cotto does deserve this 2nd tune up...he's been in tough fights lately.

Got to love this smart choice of opponent!!!!
its a good fight to get exposure and to look good against. everyone who is on the top level has used mayorga to catapult themselves back into the publics attention.

there are a lot worse fights out there, that are a lot harder with smaller paydays, so this is a decent fight, for now.

one thing i give cotto is he's always taken on tough dudes and even though mayorga is a lower level of fighter, he's a tough cookie and makes fan friendly fights.

there is risk though, but i think cotto's pedigree is far superior to mayorga's so he should get a good looking and attractive win.

I would rather see him fight Chavez i mean lets get serious here ,Is he going to fight Vargas next? I am a fan of Cotto and will watch the fight but Chavez would have been a better tune up fight for me

It's a bull**** fight. If it was Margarito vs Mayorga at this point it would be bullshit too. FACT: Even when my favorite boxers pull some bullshit I call them out for it. I don't hide and try to defend it. Example: When DLH fought Pac.
History of boxing shows that every elite, ATG or G.O.A.T fights takes keep busy fights!!!!!!!! So when you speak of one you speak of all!!!!!!
