Comments Thread For: Arum: Pacquiao Would Have Waited For Mayweather Jr.

The CEO of Top Rank, Bob Arum, was willing to wait for Floyd Mayweather Jr. The promoter of Manny Pacquiao had tried to contact Mayweather to finalize a deal for a May 7 clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Because nobody had heard from Mayweather, three other opponents entered the picture - Shane Mosley, Andre Berto and Juan Manuel Marquez. After negotiating with all three sides, a deal was closed for Pacquiao to defend his WBO welterweight title against Mosley.

I think Bob Arum is now a bit concerned with the Pac-Mosley fight that's why he is now trying to justify his pick of Mosley.

He may have felt the clamor of both the media and hardcore boxing fans about their displeasure of Pac choosing Mosley.

This fight will bomb business-wise and as it should be

Really? I think Floyd is on vacation and not thinking about boxing right now. Oh wait, he doesn't want any of Manny Pacquiao. That's a fact. Admit it buddy. Period.
