they should of asked steve who he thinks would win between manny and floyd.it's funny that they got steve forbes as a sparring partner for the clottey fight, steve forbes seems like a good sparrin partner if you are gettin ready to fight floydComment

In one of his interviews at Coward Jr's gym he already picked Coward Jr. by UD.Comment

everyone also picked diego over floyd but after that fight most people knew how good floyd really was and no one has been favored to beat him since just like everyone thought manny was to small to fight oscar but we found out manny was not as small as people thought, you pac fans make it seem like oscar was favored because he was such a great fighter at the time when it was only because of what people thought was a size difference and because manny has a ****ty defenseComment

manny is great at what he does, but his style fools people to believe that he is a technician in the ring--the reason why it seems like he is more technical than people give him credit for is because he developed a right hand some--not as good as people think, but some--he moves around good against people who don't move against him--
when cotto started to move around, manny started missing him like crazy--this is manny's fault for not fighting guys who move well in the ring--which is why i feel he didn't fight zaheer rahim also--manny has improved, no doubt, but it's all smoke and mirrors at this point--let's see how handles mosley if mosley actually boxes with him for a few rounds--
manny's feints and all are just a trick to get his opponents to engage him so he can drag them into a dogfight--he gets caught flush a lot--and when he does, his offensive arsenal takes over and this is where he flourishes at--his last 5 opponents didn't move except cotto in the later rounds, so of course he'll offset them and keep them confused when he moves around them--
if you watch how he works the mitts with roach, roach tries to make him into a counterpuncher, and it looks good when roach throws a cross at him and manny ducks it to counter to the body--that's what he does with the mitts though--manny doesn't do it in the fight though--his movement is what makes his punches look wild and sloppy at times, because he's coming in as a boxer with his movement but his balance is vulnerable--he's a come forward and jump back fighter--that will get him killed fighting floyd because floyd's accuracy is too damn good--any slight fake or twitch by manny, even if he feints with it, floyd sees it damn near everytime and he either lands a shot while not looking at it, or he lands a jab and offsets manny's timing--this is what floyd specializes in--he has pretty fought every style there is to fight--manny's style is nothing different than what floyd has faced before against journeymen--
and no, i'm saying manny is a journeyman--but his style is similar to fighters floyd fought at 130 lie gerena to name one---manny's stamina is his best trait--he'll throw combinations with speed and power but'll leave himself open---
that's a big no no fighting floyd--his best trait is his eyes---he can land a sharp punch that many fighters won't even think about throwing, and floyd will land it why looking at a different part of your body and head--that's what he's done so many times before--
like with judah, who is a much better technician than manny is and has better balance off his back foot which you have to have to work against floyd's back foot movement--floyd pivots better than most i've seen in boxing history--round 4, when judah threw a cross at floyd--floyd backed up just a little--judah threw a jab and came forward--floyd attempted a counter right, missed, judah throw a hook, floyd ducked in the same motion and landed a counterpunch to the body that changed the complexion of the whole right--that one move--it's scary how sharp he is with it--
just think about this--floyd always says, you have to know your distance in the ring--which is knows almost at all times, which is why he can dictate fights offensively and defensively---look at the combination he landed on gatti in round 6---there is no fighter imo that would have avoided that combination--no fighter--
because floyd landed it without focusing on a specific area of the region--he landed those right hook body shots while looking at his next shot--he knows his distance--it was the best combination i've ever seen-it was a very complex combination---
floyd is too keen in that ring--look at how he can roll his shoulder and follow it up with a shot that you won't see coming--because he hides his right behind his shoulder standing still and moving just his upperbody and just moving while he throws it---ask shane mosley--in round 9 i believe when he tried to throw that 1-2 combo at floyd and floyd smoothly rolled the punch and hit shane with a right hand counter--i call it a counter off of the block--he has mastered it--he knocked gerena down in round 1 with the same shot back at 130--and floyd was on the ropes where he couldn't move as well as if he was in the center of the ring--it's a lost art--floyd is an old school fighter with new school tricks--floyd patterson did that in his fights also--
manny is great at what he does, but it only looks good against stationary fighters who just move their upperbody some--
floyd's upperbody movement is just as elusive as his footwork--because of the shoulder roll--he never loses his balance--and manny will have to keep him off balance and from what i've seen from manny--he can't do it--and won't do it--
but i give manny credit for improving because of his right hand, an right hand only--being a 2 handed fighter gives you a larger array of punches that actually land--
one more example--floyd never countered a jab only to duck a following hook when he fought marquez last year---that was round 6--then he did it in round 4 against shane--he's always planning his next shot, no matter what punch he throws at you--he'll position his body to get to the right point--this is why floyd shows me something different in every fight--and he'll land something that'll change the whole complexion of the fight--
manny will find this out when they fight--you'll all see what i mean--just watch floyd start landing counter jabs over manny's jab--this is what he did with judah in round2 and buckled the **** out of him--many people missed it--i caught it--Last edited by pbftxrs316; 12-27-2010, 02:29 AM.Comment
