Since the talk of Pac-Martinez fight, i really want to see this happen at 154 division. I am hoping this happens after the Pac-Mosley fight.

At 154 for the JMW belt, Pacquiao decisions Sergio, but takes serious damage.
At 160 for the MW belt, Pacquiao gets murdered.
Hasn't Martinez HIMSELF offered to stake his MW belt (obviously along
with Pac's own JMW belt) at a catch of 154? There's nothing technically
wrong with contesting a MW at 154 --it's under the defining upper-limit
of weight, and it's Martinez himself offering to do it. I say call him on it.
Get that fucker signed for late 2011. The most plausible
reasons (good or bad) NOT to do it are:
1. Floyd becomes available (can't risk Pac getting damaged prior)
2. Arum shakes Pac down as long as possible via several in-house
bouts like Pac-Margarito II, Pac-JCC Jr. I, II and III, and similarly
mind-boggling bullshit, until Pac just grows too old or too distracted

I think this would be a good fight, but Martinez is just too big for Pac. The guys a legit middleweight. He said he couldn't go below 154 and in order for a fight with Pac to go down, it would most likely have to be at a catch weight of 150 at least.Comment

Arum and Martinez's adviser verbally agreed to stage Cotto-Martinez in the fall so if Martinez wins (and it's at 154 or a 155 CW... and Sergio is a 'free agent' by then), I could see it happening as Pac's farewell fight in early '12.Comment
