Trainer Freddie Roach is predicting that his boxer, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, will stop "Sugar" Shane Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mosley has been down in one fight, against Vernon Forrest in 2002. The goal for Team Pacquiao is to accomplish something that no other fighter has been able to do, to stop Mosley.

Asked AFTER THE MORA FIGHT if he'd read the less-than-glowing reports of the controversial draw, Arum gave little reason to expect a Mosley-Pacquiao showdown.


"I did and I read them saying Mosley was huffing and puffing for air in the fourth or fifth round," Arum said. "To me, that is the real tipoff for an aging fighter. Even Big George Foreman did that in his 40s but he always had that big, big punch like in the (Michael) Moorer fight.

"What I've read is not very supportive to make any Mosley-Pacquiao bout. Look, he's going to be 40 and he's in the lighter weights where speed is so important. He's on a show with guys -- example, 20-year-old Saul Canelo Alvarez -- old enough to be his son.

"I guess Shane needs the money due to his matrimonial sitaution (a divorce under harsh California community property rules),"Arum said. "I've always considered Shane to be a nice guy but this is what happens to fighters when they age.

"It's like (Bernard) Hopkins, he still knows how to fight but who wants to pay to see him now? His fights are not very scintillating. What you see with Hopkins we're beginning to see with Mosley."

Arum said he wouldn't be interested in playing the flakcatcher if he made a Shane-Manny bout at this point.

Its been along time since Shane took any punishment in a fight. He was never hurt againt Mora or wifebeater. If Pacquiao seriously hurts Mosley or even KO's him, he will go down as the greatest fighter the human race has ever produced.

Reading this makes me believe you're either mentally ******ed or just completely in love with with Pacquiao that you don't pay attention to what you say. Shanes never taken punishment in a fight? Do me a favor ****** and check out fights against, Forrest 1 & 2, De La Hoya 1 & 2, Vargas 1, Wright 1 & 2, Cotto, and Mayweather. Did you just start watching boxing like last year or something? And to give you an example of how much Pacq is feasting on Mayweathers leftovers, after Shane defeated Margarito, he tried to fight Pacq, but team Pac turned the fight down because Roach said " Shane's too good", you might wanna go check the archives on this website, ********boxing.com, **********.com and doghouseboxing.com....And I would like to see what you have to say then...Look forward to hearing from you my dude...

Well we'll never know, cause it seems Pac won't fight anyone who doesn't give him a good look...Seems like they match him against guys that square themselves up, or coming off long lay offs or loses. Would have been nice for him to sign to fight Berto, and before you say Berto isn't a big enough draw, who in the hell beyond hardcore boxing fans know who the hell a Joshua Clottey is? The dude avoids anyone that could actually be a threat. He didn't decide to fight Cotto until after Clottey busted him up...He fought Marg after marg had been out for over a year....He fought clottey, cause he knew clottey wouldn't throw punches...Funny how all you fools don't pay attention to the obvious...

i don't care what you people think--manny will not stop mosley--if anybody is getting stopped, it's manny. manny imo will beat shane, but it will not in any form be by ko or tko--floyd had shane hurt and stunned also-if you pay attention, ****m was about to stop the fight and floyd could have stopped shane in the 7th and 8th round-

manny will win by a close decision--he ain't stopping shane at all-don't be fooled--if shane hurts manny early-it's lights out for manny--that i promise you all-lol-

shane is a better techhnical fighter but not by that much, because shane fights stiff--but it's a decoy--because he's so explosive when he chooses to be--

manny's right hand will have to be on point that night--coz shane's will throw lea right hands a lot at manny--jack mosley will help shane's timing a lot--****m will also--shane timed the hell out of floyd in round 2--the 2nd punch i mean--his jab set everything up--shane can throw a lazy jab at manny because manny's worst flaw is his opponent timing him-and if shane times him correctly, he will punish manny, but he will have to get him out of there--let's see how he trains this time around--and i don't mean no random towel swings at him-lol--even though he negated floyd's left hook against him--
