When judging rounds with a KD

Depends on who wins the round otherwise imo, the guy with the knockdown always wins but if the other guy wins he shouldn't really get the extra point, that usually means the knockdown wasn't very serious but still there can be exceptions.
I would think that judges are somewhat expected to do it as a 10-8 rounds since that is how it is generally done if you are scoring a lot of knockdown rounds 10-9 you are never going to agree with the judges scoring.Comment

boxing has rules for judging but the judges just don't know what they are so they just score the fight for whoever throws more punches. boxing for dummies! There's no clear guidance on judging. It's very subjective and depends on the judge. IMO, there should be a clear and concise set of criteria for which judges should rely on. Basically everyone has their own way of doing things which differs from one person to next and as a result of that, boxing scorecards are not always consistent and/or make sense.
As to the thread topic, I almost always score a round with a knockdown a 10-8 round even if the fighter who caused the knockdown would have lost the round if not for the knockdown. The only the time I would score the round 10-9 in favor of the fighter who caused the knockdown, would be if said fighter was dominated the whole round.
and if you want a crazy round to judge watch barrera-marquez round 7. marquez dominates the round and nearly has barrera knocked out only to get dropped in the final 10 seconds. then barrera hits him while he's down and the ref takes a point away from him. i would score that round 10-9 barrera but with the point deduction it would only be 9-9.Comment
