Asked AFTER THE MORA FIGHT if he'd read the less-than-glowing reports of the controversial draw, Arum gave little reason to expect a Mosley-Pacquiao showdown.

"I did and I read them saying Mosley was huffing and puffing for air in the fourth or fifth round,"
Arum said. "To me, that is the real tipoff for an aging fighter. Even Big George Foreman did that in his 40s but he always had that big, big punch like in the (Michael) Moorer fight.

"What I've read is not very supportive to make any Mosley-Pacquiao bout. Look, he's going to be 40 and he's in the lighter weights where speed is so important. He's on a show with guys -- example, 20-year-old Saul Canelo Alvarez -- old enough to be his son.

"I guess Shane needs the money due to his matrimonial sitaution (a divorce under harsh California community property rules),"Arum said. "I've always considered Shane to be a nice guy but this is what happens to fighters when they age.

"It's like (Bernard) Hopkins, he still knows how to fight but who wants to pay to see him now? His fights are not very scintillating. What you see with Hopkins we're beginning to see with Mosley."

Arum said he wouldn't be interested in playing the flakcatcher if he made a Shane-Manny bout at this point.

To be fair, just a few weeks ago, people kept insisting, for over a year, that Manny was ducking Shane.
because he was d1ckhead---he did duck shane after shane had a huge tko win over tony and manny opted to fight cotto at 145 for his 147 title--manny could have fought shane after cotto, but he decided to duck floyd and then went on to fight clottey--

shane kept calling him out--and manny basically told him hell no, you're too dangerous, while floyd fights him and dominates him at 147--so in hindsight, floyd is the ww champion of the world, not manny---

anyway, shane is coming off of a loss and a bad draw and people had mora beating him anyway--so yes, he should get a lot of flack for fighting shane, just like he should have gotten a lot of flack for fighting clottey and margarito--it's the timing at which he fights these guys--it couldn't be more retarted---lol--

Ok and your point is what?

dominant win againts an undertrained/weightdrained/confuse fighter in margarito is still 100000000000000x better then not having won a fight in over 2 years and setting boxing back 60 years with your last 2 fights

Margarito must bring the category shitty to whole new level if an old gassed Mosley was able to destroy him. I guess this is right in line with Pacman's previous 6 opponents whom were all on the slide, I'm glad you were able to clear this up for us.

A better question is why didn't Manny fight Mosley when he was considered the #1 WW? Here is another good question. Why didn't Freddie Roach want Manny to fight Mosley when he was the #1 WW? The answers to those two questions explains everything anyone needs to know in regards to the quality of opponent Manny fights now. And to this fight in general.

This fight will separate the *******s from the real boxing fans.

I love me some Pac, but this fight is wack.

Pac needs to fight a young hungry preferably undefeated fighter to prove that he doesn't just fight washed up, past prime fighters.

A fair amount of people thought Mosley had a chance against Floyd.

Shane was also coming off a KO victory off Marg.

Now we KNOW Shane will get destroyed because he's coming off a loss and a draw.
Right there. That's it. Floyd took Shane when Shane still had a semblance of psychological intimidation. Pacquiao is taking a Shane Mosley who is literally irrelevant.

when shane lost in the past his management gim him easy fight with those two to rebuilt his career. but now, he fighting pacman just for money coz we all know pacman will win.
but is okay if pacman want to fight shane, is a beetch move, but is okay. he have the right to do that kind a move now.
