, look at them disgusting lowlife Brits hating on Wlad. No need to hate on Wlad just because the champ isn't a beer-gulping fat man or a coke-addict like Hatton and Calzaghe were. Wlad is living like how a champ is supposed to live.
Lewis was ashamed to be called a Brit. That's why he represented Canada and Jamaica.
Atleast Lennox Lewis was known in America, unlike Wlad. In America the respect for Wlad won't increase because nobody knows who he is in the first place, he doesn't have a single good win on his resume and he is a boring ass fighter.
The sort of people who write articles, host retrospectives and propagate the legends of older fighters certainly know who he is, as does every boxing fan worth his salt. I wouldn't be worried for him if I were you.
Nobody in America knows who he is, Wlad will be forgotten after he retires... he ain't a legend his just decent.
You americans are so full of yourself. There's much more life outside America so no one has to care about what americans are thinking. Funny to see that you are still thinking yourselves somehow superimportant.

Guys like Peter, Chambers, Chagaev, Ibragimov etc would be journeymen in the 90's and below.
That's what called an opinion, not a fact. No one can surely know as long as these guys you mentioned won't step in the ring with the guys from 90's and below. And as I know, time machine has not been invented yet, so all we can do is keep on throwing opinions which don't prove anything.

I personally think any kind of fanaticism makes half blind and leads to onesided point of views. That is not a good base for real discussion and that's why most of the forum discussions in the internet can't be taken seriously at all. But hey, people need entertainment.

British... Canadian... Jamaican, it doesn't matter, Lewis is 10x greater than Wlad.
Wlad's resume is pure ****in garbage, it's ****in embarrasing for the sport that he is so boring. Has there ever been a heavyweight champ this boring? **** no, even Lennox Lewis was more exciting... and he could be real ****in boring at times too.
Vitali's orthodox technique looks awful but he does some pretty impressive things in the ring that I've never really seen such a big man do before. Because of his size and raw upperbody strength he can afford to arm punch and still do damage which has several benefits. Firstly, it allows him to throw hurtful consecutive punches off the same arm, since he's not putting his body momentum into the shots and therefore doesn't need to reset. Secondly, because he's not utilising his body's momentum much he can throw punches even when his feet aren't entirely set or when it looks like he's out of position. This allows him to chain together really odd combos that catch fighters out because they simply aren't accustomed to the broken rhythm, odd angles or multiple punches coming off the same side. Most fighters, when they throw combinations, do a variation of the one two repeated over and over again. For example, a fighter might throw a left hook, right cross, left uppercut and overhand right. Sure, they're all different punches, but they're still being thrown in the traditional one two pattern. Vitali on the other hand can throw, for example, a left hook, left hook, straight right, left uppercut, right uppercut, right hook and whilst none of those punches would possess the raw power of a Tyson or Tua who both utilise their legs and the torque of their bodies to generate power, the constant barrage of hurtful punches coming from all angles at all times, taken over the course of a fight, is enough to take many fighters out.
Whether Vitali does this consciously or not I don't know. It may simply be a side-effect of his back surgery, but it sure does work.

I found a lot of Louis' and Holmes' fights boring. And Ali's fight with Norton was a ropeadoping clinchfest. Doesn't affect my opinion of them as great fighters though.

Difference is the guys you mentioned where ATG's with great resumes...
Wlad is boring and plays it safe against absolute **** opposition which he could put away early if he wanted to, it's ****in tedious as hell seeing Wlad jab away for 90% of the fight against usually a much smaller guy who obviously has no chance in hell of winning.

you're seeing things that aren't there, and your favourite fighter is guess what...a 'Brit'.

Holmes and Louis feasted on their share of bums as well as having more than one close and controversial fight. With Holmes, his ATG status very much developed after he had retired. The same is happening to Lewis today and it's my bet that it'll happen to Wlad in the future.
