It's all hype. If you're wanting a fighter to lose to someone simply because you don't like them, you're going to watch that fight to see if it happens (ala Pacquiao vs Hatton ). If you're not buying into the hype, you won't watch the fight whether on PPV or a stream, but what are the chances of that really happening with anyone on this forum, slim to none.

Again, I'm against the fight, but I'd be lying to you if I told you I'm not going to watch it.

Who in here said they wont watch the fight? I watch Big PPV cards all the way down to crappy telemundo streams. Nos hyt were watching. Doesnt mean were buying.

You wanna know the crazy part...

By the time May comes around, about half of the people who are totally against this fight and are hating on Arum and Pacquiao will suddenly jump on the Mosley bandwagon hoping and praying he KO's Pacquiao by bringing up facts about Mosley's past fights and such (wait for it...).

Remember how everyone was when they signed Margarito vs Pacquiao? It was amazing how many people on this board changed their tunes as the months passed.

I'm not overly excited about the fight like everyone else, but again...let's not front like all of us are "boycotting" the fight and won't watch it.

For Top Ranks' sake, they better have one hell of an undercard.

I imagine when it gets closer to the fight it will be generally more accepted and seen as more legit, it happened with Margarito alot of people were against it and became for it although people seem to dislike this fight even more than they orginally did Magarito.

This fight is a million times worse than the margs fight....tony is still somewhat young and was at least coming off a win. but shane fighting to a draw with sergio mora...please, he just needs to retire already he is SHOT.

They have had 2 close fights. Which could be used to hype the fight, give JMM his payday.
The people that say he would catch more of a beating than Shane might be right but it would be because of size not skill.
What would you rather see
Shane gets hurt, throws a wild punch then clinch.
JMM gets hurt, sits down on his punches and throws a 6 punch combo.
I'd rather see option 2.

Eh, same **** happened when Pacquiao-Margarito was announced- backlash, boycotts, yadda yadda. Then the hype machine got cranked up and over 1 million buys later Uncle Bob was laughing all the way to the bank. Same thing going to happen on this one.

True. Im tired of seeing Mosley stumble around the ring like a newborn baby horse clinching his opponent and waiting to let off that right hand. Duh Marquez is gonna get dropped like 4 times before round six but it will be an exciting fight filled with plenty of heart, something Marquez defiantly deserves.

Honestly, it is going to do far worse than most expect. Even though Shane is a big name and has a great resume the way the fight is coming off and everything swirling around it is going to hurt the numbers immensely. This fight won't do even close to a million buys. It just has such a negative feel to it. If fight fans aren't buying the fight, the casuals certainly won't either. Top Rank will regret not putting Manny in with a different opponent when all the numbers come back.
