Was Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson competitive? No, it was a mismatch. Yet people wanted to see it because they were the 2 most known and "best" HWs.

It's pretty much the same situation here. If you honestly think it would be a competitive fight, please have a seat over there. It would be a land slide. Pot shots all night long, Manny would be confused out of his mind. It'd be like he was taking LSD. He'd be tripping balls.

Also saying that everything I've posted before is garbage due to my opinion on who would win the fight, just proves you truly are an egotistical idiot.

        I think you're wrong Kimo.

Pac should be concerned about his legacy. He could make very close to the same money fighting Berto. Shane does not bring more fans than JMM (who's won fans over in his last fight and Shane's been losing fans in his last two.

Floyd has destroyed his legacy over the last 8-9 yrs, Manny's heading that way.
Name Manny's win over a young undefeated, contender?
Name Manny's win over a slick black fighter?

Both of those holes could be plugged with a win vs Berto or Bradley.

JMM has two disputed bouts with Pac and will forever be known as his nemesis who could have beaten him twice. So you're saying a convincing win over JMM at 140 doesn't enhance his legacy?

Don't duck me like you did the other thread and not respond.

The money is similar in all those fights.

If I ever ducked a response to you, sorry cos you actually formulate proper replies unlike that ****** here in this thread.

I dont care about 'slick black' fighters cos I don't think in terms of race. Manny's legacy as the best P4P fighter of the modern era is pretty sealed in my opinion. How his opponents are picked lately....yeah it bothers people. I can understand that....but at the end of the day he's still that same fighter. Relatively speaking, the people that **** on his fights are only a handful. The PPV numbers speak for themselves.

The choices are pretty bleak, he still has a few fights coming so maybe he will fight JMM. But it won't be happening at 140, mark my words. He's not gonna move down guys, why would he? To please those few die hard fans that wanna see JMM-Pac 3 under the most similar possible conditions of the first two fights? Not realistic. Same with Bradley/Alexander....not happening. Pac's not gonna move down for these young cats guys. No way.

Regarding the money....Berto is undefeated and champion, but there are many champions in boxing no one has heard of in the mainstream. I don't even believe Berto actually deserves this fight with what he's been doing lately. (you can make a case for Shane as well, I'll give you that) Not that I don't wanna see it....but I can fully understand Team Pac and Arum not making that fight. And yeah...personally I do think there's a money difference.

Ideally...yes Pac fighting a slick boxer puncher is what we all want. But the best doesn't wanna fight him atm, so we get something with a bitter aftertaste.

I agree the most with the JMM/Legacy argument. Very little though, but yes another trilogy in the mix will add some flavour.

I agree. Not to mention Pacquaio is night and day far greater than guys like Berto and Bradley. They would not even be competitive. Those are guys who will never reach the level of stardom where they have their own era, as Mayweather and Pacquiao have.

You can't make chocolate pie out of a turd.

I personally was hopeful for a Mosley fight and I am happy that it's going down. Shane has what it takes to knock out Pacquiao and as a big fan of Shane Mosley I think he deserves the payday.

You people act as if you don't know the business side of boxing.
You act like we give a **** about the business side, we as fans just want the most competitive fights, that is all.

I love Pretty Boy Floyd....i HATE money mayweather.

I am pro boxing and pro good fights....but the reality of the situation is dreadful at 147 for a star like Pac...that's why Mosley Pac is made. Some people just can't seem to handle that.
For the simple reason that it should be Mayweather and Pacquiao..... no other names should be uttered at all.

Money does play the most important role for boxers, though. Fighters should be freezing out Mayweather and Pacquiao so they'd be forced to fight each other or move on, then the sport could actually move forward.

*off topic, I think Wilbon retains his mass following of Pac fans by stating one of the following on PTI:

                    - Pacquiao is fighting a known steroid user, this is what makes him so great!

                    - Pacquiao will do what Mayweather the coward couldn't, and that's knock out Shane Mosley

                    - Mayweather's fighting legal battles, although Mosley hasn't looked great recently, Pacquiao's fighting a hall of famer.... Mayweather's a coward.

Calm down you little morons. I swear some of you guys are acting like this is Manny's last fight lol. Let Manny retire SSM from boxing and then he can make those fights with Marquez and Berto. Berto should not even be concerned about fighting Manny. He needs to figure out how to bring something to the table and get some legit fights under his belt.

Marquez, on the other hand, does bring a lot of fans and there is still unfinished work for Manny in regards of putting away those doubters who still believe Marquez beat Manny.

If anything why is there not much uproar about Floyd Mayweather completely ignoring any questions regarding a Pacquiao fight or more importantly if he ever returning. All this nonsense about his court cases and his Uncle's issues are just a smoke screen. Manny is a f'ucking congressman in his country and apart from Ariza and Roach you do not hear any complaints. A few days in court over a damn iphone and a poke to a face is not going to jeopardies your preparations.
