He schooled Pascal after the first three rounds but he was five points down at that point. I gave BH 7 of the last 9 rounds with one drawn & one to JP.
I think the people who are screaming robbery didn't score it round by round so I can see how they'd think that way. It was all Hopkins for the majority of the rounds but thats not how the scoring system works.
Pascal is talking out of his arse about scoring close rounds to the Champion though. It's two men in the ring. Where they are & who they are shouldn't matter.
pascal loses credibility with this one from me. it's obvious that his answers were contrived and probably scripted.
trying to say hopkins was dull and he made the fight, which is not the case, because the guy coming forwards making the other guy back up is making the fight and the guy coming forward for 98% of the fight was hopkins.
then he tries hiding behind the crowd, saying if hopkins can sell 16000 seats he'll be there, when pascal is in damage control, he's going to hide behind numbers to not fight hopkins when it's his rep on the line. that my friends is the cowards route, i can see that being an issue before but not now after such an exciting fight...... i dont call boxers cowards but c'mon now, this is getting ridiculous......
he also tried saying close rounds go to the champ, that is true, only when there are hotly contested close rounds, which there really wasn't one, the only thing that made any of them close, minus the kd's, was if you were rooting for pascal and were ignoring the sweet science being imposed on pascal.......... there was nothing there to be close about, being out thrown and out landed, hit cleanly, running and missing, holding on for dear life, is not close, those rounds were hopkins.
and the worst was his scripted copout of " american chauvinism ", what a crock of sheit, talk about an excuse for making him feel better or justified in that travesty of fight scoring. it doesn't matter if it was a mexican, american, african, even a haitian.......... the fight facts were and are there for all to see..... pascal lost that fight.............
i like pascal, but he's saying some pretty lame sheit here and it's obvious that his peoples are telling him all sorts of stuff to make him feel better about his loss..........
pascal saying he was robbed and that it should've gone his way because he was the hometown fighter, all the while he fails to realize that he didn't get one judge scoring the fight for him as a win......... nope, no sir, just a draw at best so you keep your belts, c'mon man, the writing is on the ****ing wall with this one, anyone who thinks other wise is flat out obtuse.
again, how does a guy that got knocked down twice in a fight get so many people to believe he got robbed is beyond me, if there was ever a fight you could call a draw, that one would be it, Pascal took the early stuff, Bernard took the later stuff, Jean knocked him down twice...
Seriously bud, did ya even read the article, it's a reference to him saying the champion gets close round in which his fight with Carl had 12. I understand how people talk without thinking but how do you type without thinking.
Carl wasnt champion, title was vacant.
Think before you type!
I know I'll get a lot of flack for this. But I think a lot of people are speaking and judging this fight a lot more on emotions then anything else. Take time and think of about this, if Hopkins wasn't 45 years old, and had a run of great performances, would you really think he won this fight? One of the things that keeps catching my attention is the fact that B-Hop constantly was complaining that he should of got the decision cus he was 45.. How does this make sense? You don't get a handicap based on age, Hops is a legend and an ATG. But calling a draw a draw on this fight a robbery? No way, it could have gone either way, most people that have B-Hop win the fight have it by 2 points.. This is only one round!! If they judged one of the close rounds (there were a few that were close), they'd actually have Pascal win the or draw the fight! Again, think about if Bernard were young, and not Hopkins, would you give him the win? Maybe, but more importantly would u call a draw a robbery? Probrably not. Again, not meant to offend anyone, just my thoughts, I agree with the draw, but think it could of gone either way. Lets not make this an age or nationality issue!
