    Based on Shane's last 2 bad prformance fights,he doesn't deserved a 5 mil guarantee..

Popular opinion leads far more towards the latter. When you think about who wins and who loses in the aftermath of Tuesday’s announcement, it’s easy to understand why.

The winners from this event do not make for a very extensive list.

Mosley obviously benefits more than anyone else. Winless since his ninth-round knockout of Antonio Margarito in January 2009, it was unclear as recent as two months ago what was in store for the 39-year old as he approaches the twilight of his career.

The fight comes more than a year after he all but demanded such a showdown, at one point even going so far as to meet Pacquiao at a weight closer to 140 lb. than at the welterweight limit. Patience proved to be of virtue – that and the revelation that he wasn’t obligated to fight exclusively under the Golden Boy Promotions banner, despite serving as a minor stakeholder in the company.

Chances are that even had he landed the fight in 2009 like he wished, Top Rank would’ve never offered him anywhere near the package he will receive for this fight – a $5 million guarantee, plus a piece of the pay-per-view upside.

Even more so than Mosley, the city of Las Vegas has been longing for a superfight that will bring fans and revenue to its declining economy.

Once known as the fight capital of the world, Sin City played host to just one blockbuster event this year – Mosley’s landslide loss at the hands of Floyd Mayweather, Jr, who has since buried himself in legal troubles which could potentially end his days as a factor in today’s boxing landscape. As much as everybody felt dismayed about the incoming match up between Pac & Shane, I somehow felt the same...Because of the successive record breaking performances displayed by Pac in his previous fights and obviously only a few number or specifically 3 last fights left for him, we kinda expect to fight the most popular, eligible & deserving opponent left...Most popular choice could be a possible record breaker w/ Floyd, another is to erase all doubts against Marquez or a duel w/ Martinez w/c is nearly impossible because of the size differences...But since Shane came in the limelight, we can't discount him of a possibility of a major upset...Just like he played as an underdog against Margarito, most has prejudged him to lose...But my point here is, Shane's marketability has degraded over years due to his last 2 bad performance fights, why he was given a guaranteed purse of 5 million dollars plus the pay per view upside (http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=34076) w/ a possibility of surpassing his collected payday in his 12 round loss to Floyd...Marquez's marketability has improved a little based on his last 2 good fights...If Arum sees Marquez over priced him for a 5 mil guarantee purse, as much as Marquez is concerned Shane also doesn't qualifies or deserves a 5 million guarantee purse or even the fight...Shane's marketability vs Marquez is pretty even at this point of time, based on Shane's last 2 unsatisfying fights against Marquez last 2 good performances...I believe Marquez 1 mil guaranteed purse w/ Floyd will go a little higher to 1.5 to 2 mil and also Shane's will go down to 1.5 to 2 mil from somewhere around 7 mil of total collected pay day he received w/ the Floyd fight...

      This fight is garbage.

      Mosley poses absolutely no threat.

Too old, too easy to hit, too easily fatigued.

If Mosley priced him around 5 mil purse, possibly surpassing his collected payday over his loss to Floyd even w/ those 2 bad performances and Arum allows this to happen then this is a slap to the face of the fans...Marquez deserves the fight more than Mosley if this is the case...This is a joke...

Mosley w/ right preparation is a dangerous threat...

I don't think so...Mosley's ability is deceiving like what happened in the Margarito fight, most think he's already in the downside of his career but still destroyed Margarito...I think Mosley still has it but against Floyd I think he even near of destroying Floyd but only to fade & lost his stamina along the way, maybe a sign of a bad preparation or lack of training...Like Hopkins, he doesn't look good against Roy Jones rematch and most think old age has come but performs well like a hungry 25 year old warrior in his last fight against a younger champion...The only thing I disagree is his guaranteed purse of 5 mil, so I'd rather see a Pac vs Marquez(at 5 mil) than Pac vs Mosley(at 5 mil)...But both of them are reasonable at not more than 3 mil guaranteed purse based on their last 2 performances and common collected pay day against Floyd, more than an embarrassment...

I rather see Pac vs Marquez(at 3 mil) against Pac vs Mosley(at 3 mil)
Still I rather see Pac vs Marquez(at 3 mil) against Pac vs Mosley(even at 2 mil)
In short Pac vs Marquez is better than Pac vs Mosley, but not that Pac vs Mosley is a garbage...

The winner in this fight is.....................JIN! She collects and doesn't have to get her brains scrambled.

This fight is putrid, here's a list of things I hate about this fight:
                1) Shane "earned" this fight by a lackluster draw against a waste of press and hype, Sergio Mora AND by getting shut out (except for one round) against Floyd.
                2) This fight does absolutely NOTHING for Manny's legacy. ZERO! The only thing it can do is hurt him. I don't care if Manny knocks him out with his first punch.
                3) Shane is already punch drunk, he's a nice guy I guess, but you can't get plastic surgery on your brain and he has kids to raise.
                4) This fight shows that what I believed Pac was about it total and utter bullshi t. He's trying to break all these phony records by cherry picking titles and now trying to add hof'ers to his resume- FOR THE NAME, NOT FOR THE CHALLENGE.
                5) Bob Arum is going to make some money off of the absolute fools that buy into this. The guy who said "*** the fans, they don't know shi t". Well, I know you're not having this fight in Dallas because you embarrassed yourself with the last one, you're taking advantage of pac fans, and you're a complete and total lying sack of shi t and a bad person.
                6) Freddie doesn't get away light either. All Manny's fights like Cotto, Hatton, and Margs are easy but you're already starting with this "Mosley is a tough fight" nonsense. And, "we'll fight JMM next". *** you too. Fight JMM now, let Berto get another good defense under his belt. That's a 2 fight plan- not over the hill, got spanked by Floyd mosley, then demanding that JMM comes up to 147 or some nonsense 146 catchweight.

If only Marquez kept his mouth shut, he could've been the one fighting Pacquiao on Cinco de Mayo weekend. I really think it wasn't about the money really, Pacquiao just wants to hurt Marquez where it hurts most, his pockets...

Shane that will fight Pac > Shane that fought Floyd cause the later I guess is fixed to pave way for a bigger Floyd - Pac fight... Too bad Floyd take a vacation after earning $ on that 1 May fight and did not fight Pac. As if Floyd did not know that the world wants him to fight Pac...
