Shane made 147 this year so how is it so hard to make 148? On top of that he is not a junior middleweight and has looked bad fighting natural junior middleweights when he weighted higher such as Mora and Wright. This gives Pac NO advantage other than making Mosley come in at his natural weight.

This story wreaks of Jose Sulaiman and the WBC wanting to get PAID for a world title sanctioning fee OR Shane is negotiating the fight to happen between 148-154. Pac's team would never offer to fight over 147 because like you said, it's a disadvantage to Pac.

It looks like Pac is trying to make the fight at 147 with NO Title (so they don't have to pay any sanctioning fees), but Mosley and the WBC are objecting for their own different reasons. Mayweather-Mosley was at 147 with NO Title at stake as well. Those are the terms Pac is gunning for.

A spokesman, lawyer, publicist or anyone that wasn't there can say anything and NOT be litigated for lying or perjury!!

Notice that 2 of the 3 ACTUAL negotiating parties (Arum & Greenburg) made statements on their own behalf, BUT HAYMON DID NOT!!! He could NOT...because then there would be documented proof that he LIED for saying "no negotiations"!!

Most of the people here reacted as if the contract was already signed and the conditions were all agreed upon.

I don't like catchweights, but the commission allows it, the sanctioning bodies allow it..and even the fighters agree on it. So why cry over this?

141-147lbs = WW division, 147 being the limit.
148-154lbs = JMW division, 154 being the limit.

if and when both parties agree on it to make the fight a possibility then why not?

Fighters know their bodies well, if they can make the weight they'll agree and sign the papers. Besides, Mosley and Mayweather fought at WW(147lbs).

So now that we know the fight will actually be at 147, that doesn't change anything. Just the fact that there were rumors about it being at a catchweight has me in shock. They are making a joke out of boxing! This is the worst thing that has ever happened to the sport. I don't know how anyone can want to watch Pacquiao fight anymore, with the way Bob Arum is and the way he acts and what he does to boxing. Wake up people!
