Comments Thread For: Shaw: Dawson Has To Knock Pascal Out To Win in Canada!

Promoter Gary Shaw expects Chad Dawson's rematch with WBC/IBO light heavyweight king Jean Pascal of Canada to take place in "in March or April" of next year. In the first meeting, Pascal won an eleven-round technical unanimous decision over Dawson at the Bell Centre in Montreal in August. Last Saturday' main event at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, between Pascal and 45-year-old Bernard Hopkins, ended in a controversial, majority draw.

so pascal gets to pick the location of the bout do to it being in the contract? very very bad.

shaw is right. dawson will have to knock pascal out. even if he puts on a boxing clinic its gonna be pretty much useless in canada.

      wow......

There was a rematch clause in both directions. The winner was able to dictate the location. If Dawson won, he could have made Pascal go to America.

Early KO? Pascal has a good chin that would be a massive bonus for Dawson if he could do that.

In order to avoid hometown decision,

They should properly scrutinize the integrity of Judges and Referee before agreeing to fight!

or better still, score a KO/TKO!

or, use Computer to Judge the Fight!

No he doesn't. Hopkins arguably dropped 4 of the first 5 rounds and got knocked down twice, and got a draw out of it. That suggests that Dawson would win if he won the majority of the rounds and keeps his ass off the canvas.
