You mean the Jermain who can't set up a shot to save his life. Martinez by wide UD because of Taylor's poor footwork and unable to set up a punch.

LOL I know I left footwork out of my mini-analysis purposely cause Martinez has the advantage there. But I dont think anyone can beat JT by wide UD he's too skilled. Cintron had poor footwork in his fight with Martinez and he was not blown out by wide UD. And Taylor is NATURAL middleweight here. He is the bigger stronger guy in the ring. If he can knock down Froch and Pavlik, he can hurt Maravilla.

Taylor was one of my favorites to root for. I don't think I rooted against him in a single fight after he came into my awareness. Maybe the Taylor who got in the ring with Hopkins could trouble Martinez with his length/jab. But now? Martinez counters him all day long and either stops him in the middle-late rounds or wins a fairly comfortable decision.

Maybe I'm delusional but I think that even the Taylor of today could make this a close fight and pull out a UD, scoring a couple KDs along the way. Martinez's KO over Williams was sick, but let's be real - Williams is a 147 lber, 154 lber at most. Taylor was a big 160 lber. Williams was able to land on Martinez ALL DAY LONG in their first fight, and in their second fight until it lasted. We've seen what happens when Taylor actually lands flush - guys with solid chins go down.

Would be a fun scrap while it lasted.
