I'd put up cash on Hopkins to win. Pascal is the obvious favorite but he is open to counter shots, BHOP will hit him often.

I wouldn't go that far back and say the last time was the first fight against Roy. I mean give Bernard a little credit here in 2001 when he methodically broke down a prime Tito Trinidad. And yes hindsight says that Tito was fighting 7 lbs too much at middle but if you want to flip the tables, then Bernard was practically fresh outta the pen facing the 88 Olympic Gold medalist (although due to politics it was just a silver).

Pascal can be hit but Hopkins can be outworked. Pascals workrate and hunger will be the difference in this fight. He's getting the decision. I know Hopkins sees technical flaws that he feels he can take advantage of but his age will catch up 2 him in this fight.

Trinidad wasn't a fast fighter, but yes, it was a damn impressive performance. And Hopkins and Jones had about the same experience, Jones was just too good. Like I said, we all want to believe Hopkins has a chance, but it just isn't true. Even if Pascal fights Hopkins fight, I'm not sure Hopkins can effectively counter the younger, stronger, faster Pascal

I won't argue about Pascal's speed, his ability to flurry and shoe shine which gains pts and rds especially in a pro Canadian crowd that will explode even when Pascal's shots are hitting gloves and shoulders. But one thing I noticed in Pascal vs. Dawson is that Dawson used absolutely zero head movement and back away in straight lines...and even tried to time Pascal with check hooks that where quite pathetic attempts. Flip this over to Bernard and you will see a guy that pretty much re-invented head movement, has a beautiful chin-to-chest tuck, and is never Never NEVER in the same place twice. Couple that with the old school tricks that Nard will employ, and I see this being a scary proposition for McFlurry Pascal from the 6 on. Not to mention Pascal made a million mistakes late in the Dawson fight that Chad couldn't capitalize on like being flat footed, winded and squaring up. Do that against Bernard and.....?

I'm sure Hopkins has also noticed the flaws and has a gameplan ready, but there's a difference in knowing what to do and being able to do it. Hopkins and James Toney are two great counter punchers and b/c of that they were seen as very tough opponents for Jones, but Jones completely dominated them mostly due to his speed. This is what I see happening to Hopkins on Saturday. Pascal will make the same 'mistakes' that Jones made but the difference in speed btwn the fighters will be too great for Hopkins to capitalize.
