None of us are picking the 45 year old Hopkins against a young, fast, powerful fighter. The last time he faced such a fighter was against a young Roy Jones. It's extremely out of the ordinary to do be picking Hopkins to win this, but no GoldenBoy fighter will say it. I wouldn't be surprised if they all bet their last paychecks on Pascal.Comment

Pascal can be hit but Hopkins can be outworked. Pascals workrate and hunger will be the difference in this fight. He's getting the decision. I know Hopkins sees technical flaws that he feels he can take advantage of but his age will catch up 2 him in this fight.Comment

I wouldn't go that far back and say the last time was the first fight against Roy. I mean give Bernard a little credit here in 2001 when he methodically broke down a prime Tito Trinidad. And yes hindsight says that Tito was fighting 7 lbs too much at middle but if you want to flip the tables, then Bernard was practically fresh outta the pen facing the 88 Olympic Gold medalist (although due to politics it was just a silver).Comment

Trinidad wasn't a fast fighter, but yes, it was a damn impressive performance. And Hopkins and Jones had about the same experience, Jones was just too good. Like I said, we all want to believe Hopkins has a chance, but it just isn't true. Even if Pascal fights Hopkins fight, I'm not sure Hopkins can effectively counter the younger, stronger, faster PascalComment

I'm sure Hopkins has also noticed the flaws and has a gameplan ready, but there's a difference in knowing what to do and being able to do it. Hopkins and James Toney are two great counter punchers and b/c of that they were seen as very tough opponents for Jones, but Jones completely dominated them mostly due to his speed. This is what I see happening to Hopkins on Saturday. Pascal will make the same 'mistakes' that Jones made but the difference in speed btwn the fighters will be too great for Hopkins to capitalize.Comment
