In almost every article about haye he says he is retiring at the end of the year, Knowing Haye and the fact that everything he says is the opposite of the truth you are probably right and he will carry onto 40 and keep saying at the start of the year "this is my last year trust me".

50/50 on gate of 90,000 at Wembley at average £100.00 per ticket.

Thats is £4.5 million for Wlad plus whatever he can get from German TV, Whats the problem???

This guy thinks Haye can sell 90,000 seats....

Not only that he thinks all 90,000 would be there because of Haye and not Klitschko.

Kinda makes you wonder why Haye didn't sell out Wembley for Harrison and Ruiz.

50/50 split - sign the fight. I get the impression Klit will try his ****** terms with rematches and options. If Klit thinks he will win sign the fight.
Wlad has made a living fighting bums.

Haye has been singing this retirement song for over 2 years now, I really want to see if he would go through with it.

He's getting really sickening with the retirement talk. It's all about his ego, like he wants people to say, "OH NO, DAVID, PLEASE DON'T RETIRE!"

            And nobody is saying that.

He might retire, but when he finds the money is running out and everything else he does flops, he'll unretire and start flapping his gums again.

How do people not understand that your opponent can make your own fans come out and support you more. Look at freaking any sport.

Baseball- TV numbers and attendance go up when the yankees come to town. In Cleveland for example the biggest nights are when the Yankees are there. That doesnt mean those people tune into Yankee games, or are Yankee fans, it means people understand the magnitude of the event or the opponent and are more interested in the person they are a fan of.

College football- whats going to draw bigger numbers in Alabama, Alabama vs. LSU or Alabama vs Southern Miss. Of course Alabama vs. LSU, that doesnt mean the people in Alabama are LSU fans or watch LSU games, it means that its a rivalry game of importance so theyre going to watch and support the team they are of a fan of more.

Everysport is this way, but David Haye and his fans cant comprehend it. People in england will be much more likely to tune in for Haye vs. wlad than Have vs. Chagaev. Yes, they are Haye fans, yes they might find Wlad boring, but due to the magnitude of the event they will want to see it and root for Haye. Again, the fairest way to do this,a nd if Haye is a huge star he should agree, Haye keeps all the money upto the level his fight with Audley brought in, Wladimir gets the rest, world wide. That is fair. If Haye is this huge international draw let him keep all the money Haye vs. Audley brought in, Wlad gets any money the event makes over that amount.

I've never thought of it that way, but I think you're right. He's mentioning it in every press release now: "I'll fight both Klitschkos in 2011, oh by the way I'm retiring soon," "I'll not bow to Klitschkos' slave contracts... don't forget I'm retiring soon," "I've found a cure to Ruslan's AIDZ, now I'm going to retire, really."

Thing is, in a sport as dangerous as boxing, going out on top with your faculties intact is considered an honourable thing. At any rate it would be distasteful for anyone to encourage a boxer to keep fighting beyond his sell by date, just to please fans, which is why I don't think anyone in the media has said much of anything to dissuade Haye. As the date of his retirement approaches, however, and there's still no Klitschko fight in sight, I think more of his fans will clamour for him to fight on and perhaps Sky might make tentative comments that perhaps he could still fight on, all the while praising his good sense to retire when he does of course.
