The most impressive thing I saw in this fight, was the fact that Maidana got up from that 100% full power body shot to the liver.

100% great job done by the ref, Watching the fight again now on SKY and the referee had no choice but to seperate them when all they were doing was holding, Great little fight too bit Maidana depends too much on his power.

Maidana couldn't do any inside fighting because Khan was holding him on the inside, that's why Cortez was jumping to seperate them, which I think actually helped maidana.

Watched the fight again and Cortez was a great ref.

I crossed Cortez's path as he was walking through the Mandalay Bay parking garage the day of the fight.

If I had to do it over again I would have broken his face and my guy would have won with the replacement ref.
