I watched a long documentary about the Falkland's and most people there consider themselves, very much British. It was weird, seeing people from South America speak fluent English and consider themselves British and what not, but it seemed clear they felt more associated with Britain than they did Argentina. And before anyone says that they could have been selective in who they chose to interview, that might be true, but they interviewed representatives of groups and authorities...and there are only around 3,000 people living on the Island!!! The war was pointless, its pointless to bring up the Falklands up with regards to this fight, Amir Khan wasn't even born during the war and I doubt he cares. Why can't boxing just be about boxing? Always got to have religion or race or something involved.

Gotta be honest, at no point in the fight did I see Cortez favouring Khan.
Just because it's Cortez doesn't mean you can automatically cast it as some hidden agenda if it was bayless that did it you wouldn't think otherwise.Comment

Maidana threw atleast 4 massive rabbit punches. Cortez should have deducted points from that.Comment

The French and British were the first settlers and shared the Islands before Spain acquired the French share of the colony and attacked the British side, Britain left in 1776.
After that in 1828 Argentina landed and settled before Britain returned to the Islands in 1833 and have remained there since. The majority of the people of the Island are British and want to remain part of Britain, much like Gibraltar and Northern Ireland amongst others.
Who knows what Argentinians like Maidana are told about the Islands when growing up, there's little doubt the vast majority in Argentina still believe the Falklands belong to them based on a nearly 200 yr old claim.Comment

one thing i saw cortez do that was in favor of khan was when khan would hold maidana hand/arm, maidana would continue to punch with his free hand, which is allowed, cortez would break them up. cortez did warn khan about pushing maidana's head down several times, but maybe if he had taken a point away it would have stopped it; who knowsComment
