I'm not in love with the road Berto has traveled so far. But I think you're seriously underestimating his skills as a fighter. He does a lot more than running and holding.

You're spot on with Mares, though. He's definitely got the hunger. I really enjoyed that fight.

I wish you would of mention how Miguel Angel Rodriguez was kind of a semi retired boxer and was a full time Mexican cop who got fired as a police officer cuz he couldn't be on duty cuz he had to train for the Berto fight...

      WBC is such a joke.

Yawn. I'm not concerned with how many fans he "gots". I was talking about his skills. And skills, he "gots".

I like the article it was a good read. I also do some writing myself. One thing though you can tell you wrote it from your personal feelings towards mares and not as an informative boxing article.

I am a Mexican and I root for Mares 100%, but when it comes down to it Mares is far behind. Never the less, he is coming back strong and impressing as well as winning many fans. To all fairness, I do know a set of hand injuries which required surgery halted his career for a short period of time.

Now, let's compare Abner to Juanma,, Abner beat Juanma 3 times as an amateur, everyone knows that. Both men began there career in 2005 but Juanma is currently a 2 time world champion and has been champion for nearly 3 years while Abner has 0 straps.

Don't get me wrong, I am confident that Abner will become a legit world champion one day and has my full support.

Yeah. I agree he's had an easy road. I was really hoping he'd land the Pacquiao fight.

Either way, it's well past time for him to step his game up.

For sure, he has many flaws in his game, a switch of trainors would help.

He may have the skills but lou dibella sure doesnt have the confidence in him.

After collazo partially exposed him he had title defenses against urango, quintana, and hernandez all at 147. WEAK.

Id like to see a collazo rematch next

Berto is exciting when hes tested. I thought his fight with Collozo was a FOTY canidate.

His fight with Urango was horrible, one of the worst fights ive seen since ive started watching boxing
