El Nica is no joke though and that would be a very tough debut for Calderon at flyweight who was small even at Strawweight FFS's.

He should stay at 108. The winner of Lazarte-Solis is a pretty good fight. Especially if it is Solis. Is not as big as it would have been earlier this year but it still pretty good. However, Lazarte would be a much easier fight for Calderon.

And, maybe he can fight Roman Gonzalez in 2011 if he is able to beat the winner of Lazarte-Solis

"Traté de hacer la estrategia de moverme, pero me estaba golpeando desde varios ángulos al cuerpo, y no me daba 'break' para moverme pa' los lados. tuve que hacer esa pelea y no pude moverme de esquina a esquina", explicó Calderón
From calderun own words. And nothing will change segura will just be even more agresive this time aroung bc he has no respect for calderons power.
And i think the same thing will happen if he faces solis. Another boxer who has power but he actually has a defense but not a good chin but calderon will never test that. Calderon should just face lower tier fighters i dont why all of a sudden he decided to face good punchers at this stage of his career.

From 105-108 what respective punchers in those divisions did Calderon ever duck or hesitant to fight?

calderun i think segura was losing that fight to a calderon who was beating his face calderon lost the fight only because he took unnecessary punishment and calderon is a small guy he is older but still has enough to revenge his lost and fight 1 more times then retire

jajaj...that is the funniest post i've read so far....i thought calderon made rounds 1 and 2 close, and after that i had him losing every round...man,talk about being in denial, not even calderon has made an excuse this ridiculous,he admitted he just couldn't fight his style because segura didn't let him, people need to accept that calderon faced a guy that night that had the perfect plan and calderon couldn't do anything, period

I would say he duked them but he never fought solis or sosa when all 3 where tittle holders. The only real puncher i remember he has faced was casarez.

So you're arguably had it a shutout for Segura?

I mean did you have round 1 and 2 close enough where you can make a case that Segura won them?

solis is pretty good, but i think calderon can beat him, solis doesn't pressure like segura and throw as many punches, not even close to the amount that segura throws, that was the key to beating calderon, lots of punches, cutting off the ring and not give him and inch of space to move, and when calderon tried hugging him segura would hit him,all those things gave segura the win and solis doesn't fight like that, yes his defense is pretty good but thats not going to give you the victory against calderon,it's the style of segura that will and solis isn't like segura,he doens't throw that many punches and pressures like segura....totally different fighters,i would favor calderon here

Well Sosa only wanted to fight in Mexico. Granted Calderon only willing to fight in Puerto Rico. They both seemed like they were willing to fight each other it just neither Sosa nor Calderon had the balls to really go to the opponent backyard. That is why so much props should go to Segura for willing to to Puerto Rico and it would go again to Puerto Rico if there is a rematch at 112.
