The reincarnated versions of dlh and vargas going at it seems a bit premature but I guess it's good buzz.Vic NEEDS to fight Peterson again and finish the job without taking the foot off the gas pedal like he did this past saturday.then I would still like a maidana/ortiz 2 to come about before he fights rios.also add in the top rank/gbp rift between the 2. rios has soto to look forward to, so I would think the fight would be a lil too far fetched rite now.if they do have the fight have it at cinco de mayo, Mexican independence day weekend. Would be a pick em fight. Very personal between the 2.

I'm actually agreeing now. Rios just doesn't give a f**k, and he wants to beat Ortiz's ass. Ortiz is showing he really doesn't have the heart for the sport, though maybe fighting Rios would rekindle it.

The winners can fight each other after that while Khan goes after the winner of Bradley vs. Alexander after a soft fight in the UK.
Maidana would not let Peterson survive the distance. I see it being a KO. Would be a good doubleheader.

Even though Ortiz is labeled as not having heart I think that would change for this grudge match. These guys would beat the hell out of each other. I think Ortiz by KO.

Brandon doesn't have the speed, defense, or boxing skills of Lamont Peterson. He would get destroied.

I know Rios usually fights at lightweight, but doesn't he normally come in on fight night weighing more than Maidana? I know Maidana came in at 149 this saturday and I'm pretty sure Rios usually comes in at 150+.

Rios is a very physical fighter who likes to push his opponents around. I don't see Ortiz' running style working for him in a possible fight vs Rios

                    that being said...

i believe fans would like to see that fight.... it has all the ingredients... the so called good guy and the bad guy..... the thing is that ortiz was rushed to the stardom... hes pretty good... but in the maidana fight... he did it all wrong.... cos he wanted to ko the guy.... I think hes going to make the same mistake with rios due to this feud.....

dont know any details about their feud besides what he says on this interview.... but I remember that both guys were coming along almost at the same pace..... about 3-4 years ago... but by that time.. ortiz was being developed by top rank... while brandon wasnt.....

that was the difference between them.... still.. i have to recognize that ortiz showed more natural abilities/skills than rios by that time.... but brandon have been doing his homework lately... he organized his personal life... and now that hes with top rank, things can change..... he has room to develop,, still young and havent been battered yet....

if they fight and for some moment "ortiz demons" (maidana fight) comes to play a role in their fight.. im definitely picking brandon to capitalize on that... since he have been eager to get all that "recognition & buzz " that have been around victor ortiz since day 1......

in essence, i pick him due to the way he respond in the maidana fight... brandon knows that..... and he will aim to his heart.... and it will be blood & guts by both parties.......

its gonna be a hell of a fight..... with me rooting for the underdog!!
Haha fair enough bro. I still think Ortiz can take it, but it'll be rough....either way we're dreaming. Arum would not put Ortiz in with Rios because of a) his betrayel, b) he's golden boy, c) he's a big risk early in Rios career. And Golden Boy wouldn't put Ortiz in with Rios, for the same reasons....minus the betrayel of course haha!
