I came away from this fight thinking Darcman won by 2-3 points easy. I did not feel that Mares won. I felt that boxing wants to see guys like Mares fight because Darcman is getting old. Darcmans head shots were more visibl than Mares body shots which at times landed low. Mares held and hit, and hit on the break. I just didn't come away thinking Mares won...

I did not see Mares winning. I saw a close fight, but I just didn't see Mares winning. Usually you connect with head shots and body shots to pull out a win. Mares rarely hit Vic to the head. Body shots count, and Mares did pressure Darc at times, but I thought Vic landed the more meaningful shots, and the cleaner shots.

Mares won. He pretty much punked Darch all night. Mares controlled the ring from just about start to finish. So on ring generalship alone he would win if neither did anything. But Mares did land constantly and pretty much at will. While Darchinyan seemed taken aback by the determination of the young fighter.
