I just been Reading everyones comments and understand where everyones coming from. But how come khans defence was very bad in this fight, I mean in the first minute of the fight khan was caught with two big right hands, he was trading alot in the fight, he was hit flush with maidana's jab at times, I was surprised how effectively maidana cut the ring off too.

That was the point the TS was making..he doesn't think that the trainer did enough coaching to the fighter on what to do. I mean, the trainer has an eye for certain things that needs to be fixed or adjusted throughout the duration of the fight. Thus, its the trainers duty to point it out to the fighter so that the fighter can fix it in the ring.

Roach is a good trainer, but highly overrated in the corner. He does his best work before the fight but is too slow for the fast pace of the fight.
He hasn't given good corner advice in a while.

lol blaming Roach for not telling Khan to block those uppercuts? if Khan doesn't know how to block an uppercut by now then he has real issues, Khan should not need Roach telling him obvious points like that because after all Khan is the one getting hit by the uppercuts. That's as useful as saying 'Don't let him punch your face' Khan tried real hard in that guard but the uppercuts just broke through. Maybe he should've told Khan to work his jab and go to the body more, but Maidana was a bull. I do feel though in the fight Roach was a bit less enthusiastic compared to when he's with Manny.

              because Khan

              doesnt listen, thats why!
When Roach did give advice, Khan thought he had it in the bag and did what he wanted to do.......
Khan is lucky that Maidana was fighting 2 people in the ring that night, otherwise he woulda got ktfo!

Roach told Khan to go to the body-Khan didn't listen. Roach told Khan exactly what he needed to hear. Khan got caught up using his speed advantage, and it almost cost him.

We are not in each fighters corner for the full 60 seconds. Just because you don't hear it on television doesn't mean Roach didn't tell Khan to go back to the body...
