i wont go that far but unfortunately the HW division isnt full of excitement right now.the only fights i see HBO carrying would be haye\klitschko or haye\adamek...maybe another chambers,arreola,thompson fight but its really slim pickings.sergio martinez is going to be the new poster boy for awhile & the lighter weight classes....i want hbo to showcase HW championship fights but they are a hard sell in the states & it is an american network.its blacks & hispanics who are the majority of paying customers...especially latinos...i cant forget floyd,pacman & now khan are getting big pushes too.pacman is up there with martinez as frontrunners

Between "Real Sports", 24/7, On the Record with Bob Costas (no longer airs), and all the great sports documentaries on HBO, I think he does an excellent job overall.

They should put someone else in charge of Boxing, though.

What HBO does with boxing is beyond comprehension, they pay $5 mil for Glen Johnson vs Dawson fight, with a live attendance of 400 and they don't want to pay a couple of mil for a Klitschko fight where the live attendance is 60,000. They are racist...

believe me people i think every decent heavyweight fight should be on HBO but the best HW are controled by euro promoters like saurland or universum.the klits control themselves so my point is that HBO isnt going to get full **** for their buck.they must be in control of the event or they wont do it....in germany or england they will not be in full control of the event so they wont air it.for example when wlad fought austin then brewster in germany HBO had to wait after the fight to interview wlad & had no control over anything at the event & their ratings were very low for those fights.they lost money so they have never gone to germany since.its that simple it makes no financial sense to co promote a fight in germany that no one will watch in the states....

dawson wont be on hbo too much longer...he had a 3 fight deal & ratings ****** ass...its not a racist thing.HBO stole dawson from showtime & it has been a collosal flop.berto is having the same issues with low attendance but HBO will give him a mulligan because hes on the brink of fights with the big boys of the division.this is why zab judah still gets airtime in title fights..he puts people in the stands & he is an american fighter that people watch.

so considering that i got 14 of wladimirs fights on HBO & they boosted him up on their network for years ,i dont understand where you get this idea that hes discriminating...tv ratings suck for them here...they spent countless millions on him even after he got embarrassed by sanders & brewster.they still showcased wlad.its they are greedy & want too much money & hbo said **** you & you are not a draw on american networks...why do you think they cant get credable fights ? only povetkin was offered OK money...2.5 million for a mandatory is a joke.should be at least 5 million.byrd got 2 million & he was the champ...you have said countless times you only started watching boxing in 2000.instead of claiming these guys are ducking him why dont you download old fights on AMERICAN NETWORKS & not streams from euro fight networks & you will see what guys are making in heavyweight title fights & what the klits offer is ****ING COMPLETELY EMBARRASSING! in the 90's if you got a title shot as a mandatory you got at least 5 million & if it was a voluntary 3 million...not this 450000 bull**** like he offered tua & chisora...it has nothing to do with race or slavic boxers it has everything to do with the klits pricing themselves out of the network.if the ratings were high then hbo would pay the money but they have to give away tickets for free to put people in the stands outside germany....you need to understand this...its all about money & ratings.andrew golota was POLISH & he packed MSG everytime he fought even after he quit or had a meltdown.HBO carried him for years.they even put his fight vs mike mollo on.ratings were high for his fights so you should really think about what you are saying...i like adamek,hes one of my favorite heavyweights & he will get his chance but they are not going to air him fighting maddalone or chagaev or any other guy who is not familiar to the american public...its that simple.right now the HW division is dominated by euro fighters so the euro networks will get the main tv rights so why should HBO be the secondary network? its not going to happen unless they are in full control...

thanks...im just being realistic...been watching heavyweight boxing for 21 years & am very familiar with what has happen over the years on hbo.i own thousands of fights.i have interviews & full telecasts in english.some fights i have them in 2 or 3 different networks.i got byrd\golota on hbo,espn & kingvision.its very neat to hear how each set of commentators analyze the same fights.
