I totally disagree with this,Ortiz should learn how to in fight..If you are in a clinch and the ref tells you to punch out(which he did and what Cortez should have let Maidana and Khan do)then you punch out..If Ortiz can't in fight as big as he was that's his own problem/flaw..Peterson gave Ortiz a boxing lesson period no need to try to make any excuses for him..I had it a draw just like the judges, that means in rds he lost the fight and I agree without the knockdowns he would have lost the fight..BTW:Ortiz rock and hurt Peterson why not run in there and overwhelm Peterson??I don't by that weight drain stuff dude was in the ring as a middleweight...He also was 141lb Officially come on man..

That's 10 pounds of water weight. I've said in the past, water weight doesn't make as much a difference as everyone thinks.
reply: R u saying u know more than Roy Jones?
No I'm not saying that, I'm just saying from my experience, the whole being X amount of pounds heavier than ur opponent doesn't mean u'll be the bigger stronger more powerful guy. I'm talkin from experience. It may help a little, but not always.
The fact that many, including me thought he should win easy is precisely why everyone is disappointed in his performance when really it wasn't that bad. He did what he could do to the best of his ability. He gets a new trainer, he'll get some new abilitiesComment

Ortiz gameplan should have been to use his size advantage to overwhelm Peterson, after the knockdown it looked like that was what he wanted to do..But Peterson started landing big shots and Ortiz was discourage to attack,I said it before I'll say it again Maidana ruined Ortiz..Comment

Ortiz is very good and when you see him fight it looks like he's got all the tools to be a great fighter...and as long as he can dominate the fight he's a beast. BUT When it gets tough in there and his opponent isn't going anywhere his confident is nowhere to be found. I just don't think he's mentally strong. Ortiz is lucky that Peterson isn't a big puncher or else he would've been KO'd in that fight.
Ortiz is the 140LB version of Allan Green.Comment

Ortiz had a BIG weight advantage and his punches were heavier than Peterson's were, he had to run to avoid a ko loss. I fel a lot of people wrote Peterson off after the Bradley loss and especially after his brother lost, it was like people had the two guys confused. I saw a bunch of Peterson is a scrub commenting and that Ortiz would blow him out of the water. I knew Peterson was very good and, to me, it was more of an insult to Bradley's abilities. He dusted Peterson for 90 percent of the fight and outclassed him and I guess people thought Peterson was a bum after that and Bradley was just an average fighter who beat a crappy fighter.
Bradley is gonna do the same thing to Alexander in January...point is: Peterson is a great fighter, so is Ortiz, Bradley is on another level.Comment

Look it up, it's scientific fact. Lmao, there's a lot the general public thinks they know that they really know nothing about. This is an example of thatComment

Like it says up top, most of the punches Peterson landed were in the clinches. He did a lot of holding, and aside from round 8 or 7, Peterson he never dominated, or outboxed Ortiz.Comment

The only reason u had it a draw is becuz u had to have been looking for reasons to give rounds to Peterson. I had it 96-94. I had round 9 even, give it to Ortiz, it's 96-93, give it to Peterson it's 95-93. That's the most common scorecard I've seen.

When Peterson started to in fight with Bradley he was very effective, and he hurt Bradley to the body after being knockdown..The difference between what Bradley did and what Ortiz did was the way he attack..Ortiz after he knock Peterson down he did not push forward he fell back and was not pushing forward anymore..Why I have no clue..But I would blame it on the ghost of Maidana's Past..Bradley also makes adjustments in a fight while Ortiz does not..Peterson did not have a bad showing vs Bradley but he was clearly beating..TBH he had a better showing then Holt and Holt put Bradley down twice..Comment
