Khan vs Maidana = Fight of the Year?

I think so. At first I thought it would be Juanma Lopez vs Marquez but last night's fight was a little more competitive IMO. Great fight from both guys.

I was surprised by how into this fight I got. That was an exciting night of action and I say it is a top choice for foty.

Good fight but like you say... Maidana was a bit too crude and Khan ran a bit too much late on after that 10th round. I'm watching Mares versus Vic now and that is awwwweeesssooommmmmeee.

One of the fights of the year, if not the fight of the year. I'm waiting for Huck vs Lebedev before I choose this year though. Don't forget about these though:

Froch vs Kessler
Pavlik vs Martinez
Burns vs Martinez (and upset of the year possibly)
Marquez vs Katsidis

This wins fight of the year in my book. Tremendous heart, with some boxing and slugging, a few incidents like head butts and theatrics to add flavor via drama, it was epic, way better than GSP vs josh koscheck.
JMM vs Katsidis is a close second for me, which I held for my fav fight of the year prior to last night.
Khan proved his chin, Maidana proved his resilience and power.

Did not impress me at all , they looked like B grade fighters , Maidana is slow and sloppy , even tangles his feet up like he dont know which way he is going , I turned it off in the 10th and watched the UFC , fight of the year you got be joking , JMM Katsidis made this look like a pillow fight .
